A FEEL FOR... Vorarlberg - Austria's biggest secret
It may be the smallest region in Austria but Vorarlberg could be the country's biggest secret.
It may not be as well known as Salzburg, its mountains not quite as famous as Tirol’s, but perhaps that is part of Vorarlberg’s attraction. It has an abundance of natural attractions, incredible farm to table food, and luxury hotels.

Luenersee, Vorarlberg - Austria HD Travel Channel
The Lüner Lake is the highest mountain lake in Vorarlberg, Austria.
The Lüner Lake hydroelectric dam was built on the crest of a cliff at the end of the Brandner valley. The reservoir is accessible only via a narrow walkway of or by cable car.
This place is a popular starting point for long walks that offer an impressive panorama.

Der Lünersee ist der höchste Gebirgssee in Vorarlberg, Österreich.
Im Brandnertal wurde auf dem Scheitel einer Felswand am Ende des Talgrunds die Lünerseesperre errichtet.
Der Speichersee ist nur über einen schmalen Steig, den sogenannten „Bösen Tritt oder mit der Seilbahn zu erreichen.
Auch dieser Ort ist ein beliebter Ausgangspunkt für ausgedehnte Wanderungen. Geboten wird ein beeindruckendes Panorama.

Vorarlberg is almost completely mountainous. It has a Germanic Alpine culture, quite different from the rest of Austria, and has been nicknamed the ‘Ländle’ meaning ‘small land’.
The greatest tourist attractions are the mountains and the numerous ski resorts . In the summer Vorarlberg is great for hiking and sightseeing.

Lünersee Vorarlberg Brandnertal Österreich Austria Wandern
Der Lünersee ist einer der größten Seen im österreichischen Bundesland Vorarlberg in der Gemeinde Vandan.
Er liegt auf einer Höhe von 1970 m ü. A. am Fuße der Schesaplana.
Das Gebiet um den See bildet den Talabschluss des Brandnertals, der nur über schmale Steige oder die Lünerseebahn vom Gebiet Schattenlagant aus erreichbar ist. Direkt bei der Bergstation an der Staumauer liegt die Douglasshütte, die unter anderem als Jausen- und Übernachtungsmöglichkeit für Wanderer dient.
