Why visit Majahuitas Beach South of Puerto Vallarta Jalisco Mexico
Majahuitas is a beautiful little beach in Cabo Corrientes south of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. It has beautiful waters and clear golden sands, bordered by palm trees and the green jungle of the region. It's what one would consider the perfect beach when imagining a place to go relax in the sun, enjoy the sand and the warm and clean waters of the Bay of Banderas. If you are looking for one of the best beaches in Puerto Vallarta, although it is in the next municipality, it is really worth considering it.
What's attractive and why go
It is a very quiet beach, free from the hustle and bustle of the beaches near downtown Puerto Vallarta, there are no vendors, no music rumbling in the bars or restaurants, no crowds of people and the noise that entails. Here, the noisiest things are the green-emerald waves that break gently on the clear, golden sands of the beach. The wind rocks the palm trees and shakes the fronds, that could be considered another constant noise in this sub-tropical beach :-) So if you are a little bit anti-crowds, this is the place for you.
Where Majahuitas Beach Located (Map)?
It is in the southern area of the Bay of Banderas, is one of the many beautiful beaches of the municipality of Cabo Corrientes, beaches that are located south-west of Boca de Tomatlan, the last beach and town in the municipality of Puerto Vallarta that can be reached by land in a vehicle. It is located about 15-20 minutes from Boca and between the beaches of Quimixto and Yelapa. To locate it on a map, use this link:
How to get to Majahuitas Jalisco
It can only be reached by sea, as we mentioned the road continues to the south past Boca de Tomatlan, but no longer edges along the bay and these beaches of Cabo Corrientes are isolated and, therefore, more virgin, clean and quiet too. We recommend you first travel to to Boca by taxi, Uber or one of the many local buses that travel to Mismaloya or Boca itself, also the buses that travel to El Tuito, which is farther south, will do. It's about 20 minutes fromPuerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone. Once in Boca, walk to the village boardwalk (malecon) on the banks of the Horcones River and negotiate a trip with the local water taxis (pangas). If there is any extra waiting time, you can have a beer or juice by the sea enjoying the beautiful beach and the small protected bay. The rest of the trip you will do by sea, traveling along the edge of the jungle and the beaches by sea, you go by Colomitos, Las Animas Beach, Las Caletas, and Quimixto before you reach Majahuitas Beach, Cabo Corrientes. Vallarta Adventures, the largest tour operator in the area, offers tours to the site and has facilities there at Majahuitas, if you want to spend a more pleasant time, with service, drinks, activities and bathroom, it may be a good option to go with them. What to do there
At Playa Majahuitas Beach Jalisco, there are few options and we recommend that you bring your own snorkeling equipment to enjoy one of the main attractions of the place, at both ends there are rocky outcrops that house fish and various marine species that you will enjoy observing. The sea invites you to swim and splash around and is very pleasant. The sand is a little coarse, so it is not advisable to let yourself be dragged by the water, some rubber shoes will help walk along the shore in a more pleasant way. The light color of the sand helps it not get too hot, which is good when it comes to walking and sunbathing. The obvious options are also to relax and sunbathe, but bring food and drink because there are no services on the spot. Also, do not plan to spend all day in the place because I did not see public toilets, I suppose Vallarta Adventures would lend you its own, but I have not consulted, be advised.
Is there where to stay in Playa Majahuitas Mexico?
Until February 2018, the obvious place was Majahuitas Resort Cabo Corrientes, right on the northern side of the beach and the hill, but the Chacala indigenous community did not renew the concession and now there is nowhere to stay in Playa Majahuitas, that I know of at least. Vallarta Adventures does not offer accommodation or camping of any kind in the place, for the time being. So the closest thing would be something in Yelapa. Puede llegar allí tomando un taxi acuático (panga) desde Boca de Tomatlán, será un viaje de 20 minutos o desde el muelle de la Playa de Los Muertos (unos 45 minutos). Otra forma popular de llegar es con uno de los muchos tours de cruceros que parten en Puerto Vallarta y que van a la parte sur de la Bahía de Banderas.
La playa de arena de grano medio es estrecha (25 metros - 77 pies de ancho) y 600 m (1900 pies) de largo, principalmente con olas suaves, hay algunos locales y restaurantes de comida mexicana y mariscos donde encontrarás platos locales sencillos, rústicos pero sabrosos. Las aguas limpias y cristalinas son populares entre los buceadores y fans del esnórkel.
Otra actividad popular cuando visita Quimixto es ir a la cascada, es una caminata agradable, pero puede ser mucho para niños y adultos que no están en buena forma, para ellos existe la opción de ir a caballo.

You can get there taking a water taxi (panga) from Boca de Tomatlán, it'll be a 20 minute trip or from the Los Muertos Beach Pier (some 45 minutes). Another popular way to get there is with one of the many beach cruise tours in Puerto Vallarta that go to the southern part of the Banderas Bay.
The medium grain sand beach is narrow (25 meters - 77ft wide) and 600m (1900ft) long, mostly with soft waves, lined by local seafood and Mexican food eateries where you'll find simple, rustic, but tasty local dishes. The crystal clear clean waters are popular with snorkelers and scuba divers.
Another popular activity when you visit Quimixto is to go to the waterfall, it's a nice walk, but might be a bit too much for children and adults that are not in good shape, for them there is the option of going on horseback.

Where is Las Animas Beach in Puerto Vallarta? Tips for your day trip?
Las Animas de Quimixto, which is more commonly known as just Las Animas, is a beautiful beach, in the south zone of Puerto Vallarta, officially located in Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, Mexico, an area that begins south of Boca de Tomatlan.
To get there from Puerto Vallarta, we recommend traveling by land (10 miles from the main square of the city, or about 20 minutes) to Boca de Tomatlan, the last coastal village on the road South that takes you to Barra de Navidad. From there take the water taxis (pangas) that shuttle passengers to the beaches of the southern area of Banderas Bay.
It is the first stop water taxis make (locally called pangas) when they go to south in the Bay of Banderas. This section includes beaches and towns like: Quimixto, Majahuitas, Yelapa and some even further south, like Pizota, El Chimo and Cabo Corrientes.
Las Animas Beach is a very popular day trip, there are many tours and cruises that take you there from Puerto Vallarta and stay a good part of the day. It is the first beach, about 2 miles from Boca, (about 5-10 minutes), just after passing Caballo Beach.
It has a pier that helps a lot when disembarking passengers, the beach is a favorite of the sun and tanning fans. The sand is fine and clear, the waters are clean, the waves are usually very soft and the thick jungle serves as a backdrop.
What can be done in Las Animas Jalisco?
There is a good repertoire of small restaurants and vendors that offer fresh sea food and drinks that can be natural or alcoholic. We recommended you try the local fresh oysters and almost any fish dish, the zarandeado being the most popular. There are various activities on site, diving or snorkeling, walking along the beach and many enjoy parasailing.
There is nowhere to stay in Las Animas, but it is possible to find a beach place just up the beach in Casas Maraika and maybe stay at Majahuitas Resort and take a water taxi to get around.

Yelapa: arriving and walking along the beach (Cabo Corrientes, Mexico)
Yelapa is for those who enjoy finding hidden places or hideaways to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern civilization. Undoubtedly the place in Banderas Bay is to look south, where there are a number of beautiful beaches, especially those that can only be reached by sea, among these Yelapa, an open secret that has brought together many artists and foreigners who seek the natural and the down to earth beauty of simplicity.
Yelapa is a fabulous place, so isolated that you feel as if you were on a tropical island in the South Pacific, for a long time even cellphones didn't work here and allowed for total isolation, which is a luxury nowadays. 30 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta by sea, between the jungle and the waters of the Bay of Banderas and the small Yelapa bay.
The word Yelapa has a Purepecha origin and means: place where the waters meet or accumulate.

Where is Yelapa?
If you watch the beginning of the video, you will notice that Yelapa is in the southern zone of the Banderas Bay, it is between Majahuitas Beach and Pizota (further west). It is about 30 minutes by water taxi (panga) from Boca de Tomatlan. You can only arrive by sea to this town and beach.
How to get to Yelapa from Puerto Vallarta
To get to the place there is only one way, by sea, you can take a boat from the Los Muertos Beach Pier (50-60 minutes), or travel by land passing Mismaloya until you reach Boca de Tomatlan and from there take a water taxi, or panga , as they call them locally, the trip by sea takes about 30 minutes.
It is advisable to get to Playa Yelapa from Boca de Tomatlan, there are two docks to disembark in Yelapa Cabo Corrientes, one on the main beach by the side of Lagunita Yelapa Hotel and another in the town of Yelapa which is in the west side of the small Yelapa Bay.
The route of the boats usually includes quick stops at the beaches before reaching the destination, may include Las Ánimas, Quimixto and Majahuitas.
Among the favorite activities in Yelapa are going to see the yelapa waterfall and paragliding (parasailing too).

Estimados,
Como vieron en el video esta playa es un paraíso en especial para la gente que disfruta del Eco-turismo, tanto como yo.
Si están cerca de puerto Vallarta no se deben perder el vistar esta playita ya que la sensación de ir caminando por mas de 30 min contemplando sus vistas panorámicas y su vegentación en un clima tropical en pocos lugares se encuentra.
No se olviden de llevar mucha agua, calzado comodo para este tipo de caminatas y ganas de hacer un poco de ejercicio, al final cuando estén en el agua sabrán que valío todo el esfuerzo.
