➡ Madeira Island is in our opinion not only the Hawaii of Europe, but also heaven on earth. Why?
Because you literally are above the clouds. All our days on Madeira we could drive five minutes up the mountains and BAM, we would be above the clouds, which is such a unique and epic feeling. Especially when you are driving a Mini Cooper with the roof down and sun in your face.
Madeira Island is probably the most tranquil and beautiful place we have had the pleasure of visiting and that is even though we had a quite tough walk in the complete wrong direction making us climb the equivalent of 200 floors. Oh well, a little exercise never killed anyone.
