You Need to Visit Canggu. Best Town in Bali. Street Art Tour (Where to stay in Bali)
We’ve found one of our favourite places on the planet (to date)! Canggu is on the Southwest coast of Bali, and is known as a digital nomad haven full of coffee shops and bars.
We spent the day exploring Canggu trying to find the best things to do in the town.

After showing off the rental we made our way into town passing by some beautiful homes on the way.
First we head to one of the more famous coffee shops in the area called Crate Cafe. Here you’ll find healthy food, and lots of coffee at a really affordable price, they also have a fair bit of artwork around.
We’d worked up an appetite at this point so we headed to a Vietnamese restaurant called Leroy’s to get some Banh Mi sandwiches.
After this we made our way through town trying to find street art. Canggu as well known for having lots of graffiti and street art around and we found an abundance.
Lastly we headed down to the beach (Batu Bolong Beach) to check it out for the first time. There are lots of beach clubs around but we just walked along the beach area to check out the surfers.

The Cafe was opened in April 2014, by us ( Nyoman and Maree ) to service the hungry needs of the Canggu community. We both have a love for coffee and getting it right was our aim. We outsourced local suppliers to ensure produce was delivered fresh daily. As the community grew, so did we. And in November 2017, we moved to our new premises to continue doing what we love.
ABOUT CANGGU
Canggu is a coastal village and 10 km beach on the south coast of Bali, Indonesia. It lies approximately 10 kilometers north of Kuta, and presents a much more relaxing atmosphere of dining, cultural and beach activities. The main Canggu streets are Jalan Batu Bolong, Jalan Padang Linjong, Jalan Batu Mejan and Jalan Tanah Barak. Along Jalan Batu Bolong you find the temple of the dead, Pura Merajapati, and the Pipitan Cemetery. Along the beach there are two main temples, Pura Batu Bolong and Pura Batu Mejan, which are both hundreds of years old and were initiated for building by Dang Hyang Nirartha. The Canggu area used to have scenic views of paddy fields and coconut groves but current rapid developments are quickly replacing these traditional views with private villas.

Located on the east of Java and west of Lombok, the province includes the island of Bali and a few smaller neighbouring islands, notably Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. The provincial capital, Denpasar, is the most populous city in the Lesser Sunda Islands and the second largest in Eastern Indonesia after Makassar.

1. Pura Tanah Lot - About 20 kilometers northwest of Kuta, Pura Tanah Lot (Pura means temple in Balinese) is one of Bali's most iconic temples thanks to its spectacular seaside setting on a rocky islet surrounded by crashing waves.
2. Mount Batur - Every day in Bali's predawn darkness, hundreds of visitors begin the trek up the 1,700-meter summit of Mount Batur to watch the sun rise above the lush mosaic of mist-shrouded mountains and the caldera far below.
3. Uluwatu Temple - Presiding over plunging sea cliffs above one of Bali's best surf spots, Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) is one of the island's most famous temples, thanks to its magnificent clifftop setting. In Balinese, Ulu means tip or land's end and Watu means rock, a fitting name for the location of the temple on the Bukit Peninsula along the island's southwestern tip. Like Pura Tanah Lot, sunset is the best time to visit, when the sky and sea glow in the late afternoon light.
