Chatra district is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state, India, and Chatra is the administrative headquarters of this district. The district covers an area of 3706 km². In 2011, Chatra had population of 1,042,886 of which male and female were 533,935 and 508,951 respectively. This is the district where many person got National awards from President of India. Deocharan Dangi got National award in field of teaching and Prashant Kumar got award in field of social work. They are well known because they are in Father- Son in relation.

    Jagannath Temple in Ranchi was built by king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur Thakur Anish Nath Shahdeo in memory of sweta kumari, during 1691. Completed on Christmas 1691, it is located about 10 km from the main town. The temple is on top of a small hillock. Similar to the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, this temple is built in the same architectural style, although smaller.     Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba Baidyanath dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples.According to Hindu beliefs, the demon king Ravana worshipped Shiva at the current site of the temple to get the boons that he later used to wreak havoc in the world.
