Colares, Portugal - Praia Da Ursa
This video was taken at Praia Da Ursa in the Sintra region of Portugal. We had to hike about 25 minutes down cliffs to get to this remote beach. The rock formations and large waves make this beach spectacular to visit. We were celebrating my sisters wedding and it was a little trip for the wedding party to explore. It is at the western most point of continental Europe which is pretty cool!

On arriving at Azenhas do Mar there is a pretty view over the site of this terraced town, which sticks to a jagged cliff at the foot of which a small creek has been laid out as a sea water swimming pool.Azenhas do Mar is a true masterpiece of popular architecture, the village has the shape of a crib with several ledges up the hill. almost every house is painted in white and the village has a small bay, where an ocean pool was built. It is located 3km away from Praia das Maçãs beach and 14km away from Sintra historical centre.

On this episode, I dragged myself out of my campsite to a place called Azenhas do Mar. The spot is amazing. Absolutely beautiful. But it's also one of those places that is incredibly photogenic for one or two shots, and not much more.
I was feeling pretty apathetic about going outside this morning. I've been travelling pretty hard of late, and I'm getting a bit burnt out again. But, I powered through and am so glad I made my way to Azenhas do Mar. I had a great dinner overlooking the sea, then went back up to the view point for sunset. I also managed to shoot some drone footage of Azenhas do Mar which came out pretty cool.

Azenhas do Mar (Paradise in Sintra) - Portugal
A aldeia de Azenhas do Mar fica situada no litoral do concelho de Sintra, na freguesia de Colares, numa encosta com vista para o mar, a sua disposição acompanha a Ribeira do Cameijo até ao areal da praia das Azenhas do Mar.
O nome da aldeia surge ligado à existência das azenhas (pequenos moinhos) juntas à ribeira de onde muitos dos nativos tiravam o seu sustento com a moagem de cereais. Outras atividades de relevo da aldeia eram a agricultura e a pesca, ainda hoje muito importantes pelo cultivo de vinha e recolha de marisco (Lapas e Percebes).
Esta maravilhosa aldeia, uma pérola pintada de branco que contrasta com o verde da vegetação, castanhos das encostas e azul do mar, é muito procurada pelos turistas, internos e externos, não só pela sua beleza mas também pela boa gastronomia, simpatia das suas gentes.
Ideal para um banho no Oceano Atlântico, águas frias, ou apenas para desfrutar de um fabuloso pôr-do-sol sugiro uma visita a este local, que classifico como a não perder.

The village of Azenhas do Mar is located in the county of Sintra, parish of Colares, on a hillside overlooking the sea, its disposition accompanies Ribeira do Cameijo to the sandy beach of Azenhas do Mar.
The name of the village arises connected to the existence of the mills in the Ribeira from where many of the natives took their sustenance with the grinding of cereals. Other important activities of the village were agriculture and fishing, still very important today for the cultivation of vineyards and collection of shellfish (Lapas and Percebes).
This beautiful village, a pearl painted in white that contrasts with the greenery of the vegetation, brown of the slopes and blue of the sea, is much sought after by tourists, internal and external, not only for its beauty but also for the good gastronomy, the sympathy of its people .
Ideal for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean, cool waters, or just to enjoy a fabulous sunset I suggest a visit to this place, which I classify as not to be missed.
