Dengfeng is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, China. In ancient times, it was known as Yangcheng .Dengfeng has an area of 1,220 km2 and a population of 630,000. Fawang Temple is a Chinese Buddhist temple located 5 km northwest of the town of Dengfeng in Henan province, China. The temple is situated at the bottom of the Yuzhu Peak of Mount Song. This ancient temple features Chinese pagodas that were built during the Tang Dynasty . The most prominent of these early Tang era pagodas is a 40 m tall square-based stone tower with eaves, its ground floor measuring 7 m on each side with 2 m thick walls. Inside this pagoda is a shrine and a jade statue of the Buddha that was presented to the pagoda in 1409 by a member of the royal family stationed in Luoyang during the Ming Dynasty. This pagoda follows the similar design style of other Tang pagodas, such as multi-eaved, square-based Xumi Pagoda and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Other Tang pagodas include three ...

The Songyue Pagoda , constructed in AD 523, is located at the Songyue Monastery on Mount Song, in Henan province, China. Built during the Northern Wei Dynasty, this pagoda is one of the few intact sixth-century pagodas in China and is also the earliest known Chinese brick pagoda. Most structures from that period were made of wood and have not survived, although ruins of rammed earth fortifications still exist.

Xuchang is a prefecture-level city in central Henan province in Central China. It borders the provincial capital of Zhengzhou to the northwest, Kaifeng to the northeast, Zhoukou to the east, Luohe to the southeast, and Pingdingshan to the southwest. Its population was 4,307,488 inhabitants at the final 2010 census, of whom 1,952,666 lived in the built-up area made up of Weidu district, Xuchang county and Changge City largely being urbanized. Shaolin Monastery or Shaolin Temple is a Chán Buddhist temple on Mount Song, near Dengfeng, Zhengzhou, Henan province, China. It is led by Abbot Shi Yongxin. Founded in the fifth century, the monastery is long famous for its association with Chinese martial arts and particularly with Shaolin Kung Fu, and it is the best known Mahayana Buddhist monastery to the Western world.
Shaolin Monastery and its famed Pagoda Forest were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 as part of the Historic Monuments of Dengfeng.

I was in Henan from end-July till August 9, visited a couple of places in Anyang and went to Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng with my boyfriend.

On my last (full) day in Shanghai (August 10) I went to the World of Ghibli Exhibition at Shanghai World Financial Center. Studio Ghibli films have always been my favourites, I cannot miss this man! Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky, and Ponyo are those that I have watched for more than twice HAHA I really love Studio Ghibli! Ended my last day in Shanghai on a good note HEH
