Drive to Mt Taranaki (north Egmont) starting at Egmont Village 10x speed
Drive to the visitor center at the end of the road, at about 1000m elevation. Starts at Egmont Village where the road turns to bring the volcano into view. This is the last 20 minutes of a 40 minute drive from New Plymouth

Stratford - Whangamomona - Tongariro Nationalpark
From Stratford I started my trip towards the Waitomo Caves. I decided to take the famous Forgotten World Highway, which was only 150 kilometres long, but a highly memorable driving journey.
The only village on this Highway was Whangamomona where I could get a stamp for my passport at the historic hotel because it's a own republic in New Zealand!
I ended up at a lost campground in the middle of the Tongariro Nationalpark where I had the coldest night since I'm in New Zealand.
