In the dry folds of the High Atlas mountains, approaching the Sahara, there’s an unexpected place called the Vallée des Roses where, in spring, the entire area is awash with pink Persian roses. Marocco & Western Sahara: Gole del Todra e del Dades - Parte 7/17
Prendiamo la N10, attraversiamo le Gole del Todra una grande frattura nell'altopiano che divide l'Alto Atlante del Jebel Sarho ed è attraversata da un fiume dall'acqua cristallina. Nel punto più stretto la gola raggiunge i 300 m di altezza. Al mattino la gola è molto suggestiva perché il sole penetra nel fondo della gola e le rocce rosa assumono un'intensa tonalità ocra. Poi abbiamo proseguito per le Gole del Dades seguendo un tragitto particolarmente piacevole tra mandorli e fichi, splendide formazioni rocciose e kasbah e ksour molto suggestivi. La strada si inerpica lentamente sulle ampie pareti della gola per circa 25 km fino ad Ait Oudinar; qui la gola si stringe bruscamente e il fiume scorre proprio accanto alla strada. Durante il percorso abbiamo ammirato panorami di montagne incontaminate con nomadi che conducono greggi di capre al fiume. Nel primo pomeriggio abbiamo percorso la N13 fino a Rissani sotto il caldo sole e i 50° che ci toglievano il respiro.
VALLE DEL DADES E DEL TOUDRA:
Scaturito dall'Alto Atlante, l'ouadi Dadès alimenta una serie di oasi, scrigni di mille kasbah della valle. Ma a partire da Boumai, i versanti desertici della montagna rosicchiano il suo nastro di vegetazione. Ma l'ouadi è testardo, non molla, scava blocchi spessi di calcare. E la valle si stringe in pareti vertiginose: le gole del Dadès.
Fondata nel XII° secolo da Yacoub el Mansour, l'oasi lussureggiante si Skoura offre un'incantevole preludio alla vallata delle mille kasbah: el Kabbaba, Dar Aïchil, Dar Aït Sousse, la più bella di tutte, Amerhidil... Dai palmeti ai giardini, la strada si srotola fino alle rose, migliaia e migliaia di rose che profumano El Kelaa M'Gouna, il più bel roseto della valle. Ma si può anche cambiare aria. Azlag, dove 120 fabbri, quasi tutti gli uomini del villaggio, fabbricano magnifici pugnali istoriati; l'antica kasbah del Glaoui in equilibrio su di una roccia; la splendida kasbah di Bou Taghar.
Le gole del Dadès. Un enorme blocco di calcare tagliato da un colpo di spada. In questo universo scosceso, dilaniato, le kasbah sposano il lilla, il ruggine, il rosso vivo, il porpora delle rocce.
La strada si trasforma in pista, guada il Dadès, si arrampica come un merletto sospeso su di un burrone vertiginoso, penetra in un regno segreto: quello degli uccelli e dei mufloni. Ma vi sono altre gole che valgono il viaggio: quelle di Todra. A partire da Tineghir, dopo una cinquantina di chilometri si arriva alla fine del mondo. Due scogliere a picco, con un salto di 300 metri, separate solo da uno stretto corridoio largo una ventina di metri.

MARRUECOS 3 – RUTA POR AIT BEN HADDOU:
En nuestro tercer día en Marruecos iniciamos la ruta de tres días hacia el desierto Erg Chebbi, en Merzouga, pasando por la ruta de los castillos y visitando la espectacular kasbah Ait Ben Haddou y los estudios de cine Atlas, en Ouarzazate. Para ello deberemos cruzar el Atlas lo que nos llevará a ver algunas de las mejores vistas panorámicas de Marruecos, llegando al punto más alto de la ruta, el puerto de Tizi-N-Tichka. Llegamos cansados pero contentos al pequeño pueblo bereber de Ibrrahne donde se encuentra nuestro Riad Tazawa, en pleno valle de las rosas.
