Alexandreia is a located in the vast plain north of the river Aliakmonas and west of the river Axios, named Kampania or also Roumlouki. Its economy is chiefly based on the agricultural utilization of the surrounding fields. The area around Alexandreia has the greatest production of peaches in Greece and apples, pears, tobacco, and cotton are also grown at large. Its elevation is 10 m above mean sea level.[4] Alexandreia is 19 km south of Giannitsa, 23 km northeast of Veroia and 42 km west of Thessaloniki.
Central Macedonia
Alexandreia has a railway station on the railway from Thessaloniki to Florina. The Platy railway station on the important railway from Thessaloniki to Athens is also situated in the municipality of Alexandreia. The motorways A2 (Egnatia Odos) and A1 pass through the municipality. The Greek National Roads EO1 and EO4 pass through the town.

Visit Macedonia - The ancient city of Pella
Pella (Greek: Πέλλα), an ancient Greek city located in the current Pella regional unit of Central Macedonia in Greece, was the capital of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia. On the site of the ancient city of Pella is the Archaeological Museum of Pella.
A common folk etymology is traditionally given for the name Pella, ascribing it to a form akin to the Doric Apella, originally meaning a ceremonial location where decisions were made. However, the local form of Greek was not Doric, and the word exactly matches standard Greek pélla stone, possibly referring to a famous landmark from the time of its foundation. Another proposed etymology is that Pella originally meant defensible citadel on a cliff, and this etymology is backed by the numerous ancient cities throughout Greece with similar name i.e. Pellana, Pallene, Palle, Pelle, Pelion, Palamede, Pellene, etc. The word Polis is most probably derived from that ancient meaning.
The city was founded in 399 BC by King Archelaus (413--399 BC) as the capital of his kingdom, replacing the older palace-city of Aigai. After this, it was the seat of the king Philip II and of Alexander, his son.

By the time he died 13 years later, Alexander had built an empire that stretched from Greece all the way to India. That brief but thorough empire-building campaign changed the world: It spread Greek ideas and culture from the Eastern Mediterranean to Asia. Historians call this era the Hellenistic period.
The name Macedonia was later applied to identify various administrative areas in the Roman and Byzantine Empires with widely differing borders.

Serres Greece - Πήγαμε στα Σέρρας!!
Στο σημερινό βίντεο πήγαμε στις Σέρρες!! Η εκδρομή μας ξεκινάει από την Θεσσαλονίκη, και θα περάσουμε από τις ωραίες Σέρρες να πάρουμε τον Σέργιο και με προορισμό την λίμνη Κερκίνη και τις σπηλιές στην Αλιστάτη. Οπότε έρχονται αλλά 2 βίντεο από την μέρα αυτή!

* Amphipolis, a magnificent ancient Greek polis (city), is the place where Alexander the Great prepared for campaigns leading to his invasion of Asia. Alexander's three finest admirals, Nearchus, Androsthenes and Laomedon, resided in this city.
* Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece, was built as a gift to Alexander the Great's sister, Thessaloniki. She gained her name (victory of Thessalians, from Greek: nikē victory) from her father, Philip II, to commemorate her birth on the day of his gaining a victory over the Phocians, who were defeated with the help of Thessalian horsemen, the best in Greece at that time. (Thessaly is a region in central Greece.)
The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is a museum in Thessaloniki which holds and interprets artifacts from the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods from the region of Macedonia.

Amphipolis (Ancient Greek: Ἀμφίπολις: Amphípolis) was an ancient Greek city in the region once inhabited by the Edoni people in the present-day region of Central Macedonia. It was built on a raised plateau overlooking the east bank of the river Strymon where it emerged from Lake Cercinitis, about 3 m. from the Aegean Sea. Founded in 437 BC, the city was finally abandoned in the 8th century AD. The present village Amfipoli (Greek: Αμφίπολη), named after the ancient city, occupies the site. It is a municipality in the Serres regional unit of Macedonia, Greece. The seat of the municipality is Rodolivos.

Olynthus (Ancient Greek: Ὀλυνθος, named for the olunthos, the fruit of the wild fig tree) was an ancient Greek city of Chalcidice, built mostly on two flat-topped hills 30--40m in height, in a fertile plain at the head of the Gulf of Torone, near the neck of the peninsula of Pallene, about 2.5 kilometers from the sea, and about 60 stadia (c. 9--10 kilometers) from Poteidaea.
