Jenny Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The lake was formed approximately 12,000 years ago by glaciers pushing rock debris which carved Cascade Canyon during the last glacial maximum, forming a terminal moraine which now impounds the lake. The lake is estimated to be 423 feet deep and encompasses 1,191 acres . Jenny Lake is considered to be a major focal point in Grand Teton National Park, with many hiking trails, scenic boat rides, and quick access to the major climbing routes onto the tallest peaks of the Teton Range. Old Faithful is a cone geyser located in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, United States. It was named in 1870 during the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition and was the first geyser in the park to receive a name. It is a highly predictable geothermal feature, and has erupted every 44 to 125 minutes since 2000. The geyser and the nearby Old Faithful Inn are part of the Old Faithful Historic District.

5. Jackson Lake Grand Teton National Park
Jackson Lake is in Grand Teton National Park in northwestern Wyoming. This natural lake was enlarged by the construction of the Jackson Lake Dam, which was originally built in 1911, enlarged in 1916 and rebuilt by 1989. The top 33 ft of the lake is utilized by farmers in Idaho for irrigation purposes. The lake is the remnant of large glacial gouging from the neighboring Teton Range to the west and the Yellowstone Plateau to the north. The lake is primarily fed by the Snake River, which flows in from the north, and empties at Jackson Lake Dam. Taggart Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U. S. state of Wyoming. The natural lake is located at the terminus of Avalanche Canyon. A number of hiking trails can be found near the lake including a 3 miles roundtrip hike commencing from the Taggart Lake Trailhead parking area. The lake is approximately one mile south of Bradley Lake reckoned by trail distance. A 2005 study of the water quality of the lakes in Grand Teton National Park indicated that the lakes in the park were still considered pristine and that they had not been impacted by air or water pollution.

The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest in the world, after Frying Pan Lake in New Zealand and Boiling Lake in Dominica. It is located in the Midway Geyser Basin. Grand Prismatic Spring was noted by geologists working in the Hayden Geological Survey of 1871, and named by them for its striking coloration. Its colors match the rainbow dispersion of white light by an optical prism: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue.

Lake Solitude is a lake located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The 0.5-mile in circumference natural lake is situated at the head of north Cascade Canyon and is a popular destination for hikers and backpackers. From the Cascade Canyon trailhead on the west shore of Jenny Lake, the lake is a distance of 7.2 miles and there is an altitude gain of 2,252 feet along the Cascade Canyon Trail and Lake Solitude Trail. An alternate route to the lake from the north begins at String Lake and steeply climbs through Paintbrush Canyon to Paintbrush Divide on the Paintbrush Canyon Trail and then descends to Lake Solitude after a 11.5-mile hike with an altitude increase of over 4,000 feet to the divide.

The Top sites mentioned in my previous Yellowstone national park video and this video is best suitable for any long weekend itinerary. Be sure to visit all these attractions. You can cover the sites of both the park in your any Long weekend holiday.
In this video I have covered the sites in a loop as you enter the park from Jackson Hole( East Entrance). The sites start from Grand Teton to all the way to the Old Faithful in a loop. You can cover all these attractions in a day. There are plenty of other attractions/vista points as well in case you have time to visit.

Top 10 Tips for Visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in the Summer

Top 10 Tips for Visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in the Summer. We spent a few weeks here in Summer 2016.

Tip #1 - Be prepared for Bears: You are almost guaranteed to come across a Brown or Black bear in the park. Their numbers are up to over 1000 and they are very active in the summer. Encounters are frequently not dangerous, but be prepared by carrying bear spray, which you can order here:

Making noise may also scare the bears off before you even see them.

Tip #2 Check for Wildfires: Wildfires are very common in this are in the summer. While we were there we had a few days where smoke chocked the valleys. Know where they are by checking the alerts tab on the websites, or check inciweb for details on fires in the entire region.

Tip #3 Drink LOTS of water: Both parks are at high elevations above 6,000 feet with many hikes above 10,000 feet. At these elevations and in the dry conditions found in the parks in summer, your body loses water over twice as fast as at sea level. Pack plenty of water and keep hydrated!

Tip #4 Avoid the crowds by visiting early in the morning or late in the evening: We went exploring around 6:00 each morning and after 6:00 in the evening. In the mornings the park will start to fill by 9:00 and be busy untill 6:00 in the evening.

Tip #5 Consider Camping Outside the Parks: While visiting we stayed in national forest campgrounds on the outskirts of the parks. Not only are the campgrounds crazy busy in the parks they are quite expensive for not having any hookups at most of them. Use the website to find campgrounds.

Tip #6 Be respectful of wildlife: Visiting the park you will get up close and personal with lots of big animals. Dont get too close or you will get hurt. Also do not feed the animals, We saw people feeding foxes and squirrels. Doing this gets animals too reliant on humans or makes them dangerous.

#7 Be Wary of other drivers in the park: We have never had so many close calls with vehicular accidents as our time in the park. There are so many distractions and so many people, many with RV's and large vehicles. This is a recipe for disaster so driver defensively, and watch out for other drivers. Drive safely and don't cause an accident.

#8 Stop at the Visitors' Centers: They are incredibly helpful and will help you have the best experience possible. Utilize their service when you get to the park!

#9 Leave your dogs at home: Your dogs are not allowed on any trails or any undeveloped place in the park. Your dog smells like a wolf to many wildlife and screws up natural patterns. Many large animals are also more likely to attack you with a dog. We saw to many people disobeying these rules. Don't be that person. You could also face hefty fines.

#10 Be safe, don't push your luck: Think things through and don't go beyond your means. We saw many people doing dangerous things or clearly unprepared. Be smart and stay safe.

Last weekend we went down to Wyoming to find a bunch of things to do in Jackson Hole. There are lots of things to do in Wyoming and lots of Wyoming attractions but the little town of Jackson is a highlight.

There are a lot of options for lodging in Jackson. Out of all the hotels and motels, we stayed at the Wort Hotel in downtown Jackson, home to the Silver Dollar bar and the Cowboy Bar.

We hope this helps you decide what to do in Jackson or what to do in Wyoming in general. Have a great trip!

Jackson is a town in the Jackson Hole valley of Teton County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 9,577 at the 2010 census, up from 8,647 in 2000. It is the county seat of Teton County and is its largest town.

Jackson is the principal town of the Jackson, WY-ID Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Teton County in Wyoming and Teton County in Idaho.
