Rusky Ed here and time zones is the topic of this lesson and when it comes to time zones, Russia has more of them than anyone else. More on that following the intro song, but be sure to inspect the focus words for this lesson in the meantime.
They say that even a broken clock is correct two times each day. At least they used to say that back in the days of analog clocks. It’s not so true anymore since modern digital clocks tend to be blank when they aren’t working. But be that as it may, the focus of this lesson is the time zones of Russia and Russia has a bunch of them, eleven to be exact. They range from UTC+2 to UTC+12. BTW and FYI, UTC stands for Universal Time Coordinated.
So, getting to our focus words for this lesson, we have:
пояс - zone, region
сбивать - to knock down
толк - sense, judgement
сломанный - broken
даже - even
показывать - to show, to display
A couple sample sentences featuring these words go a little something like this:
First up we have,
Большое количество часовых поясов сбивали её с толку.
(The large number of time zones confused her.)
BTW, the phrase
сбивать с толку means to bewilder, to confuse, or to muddle.
Onward now to sample phrase number two:
Даже сломанные часы показывают точное время два раза в день.
(Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.)
It is worth noting that сломанный is the passive participle of сломать.
Continuing now with our discussion of time zones, within Russia the time zones are referenced not based on the UTC times, but on Moscow Time or Моско́вское вре́мя in Russian, which in English is referred to as Moscow Standard Time or MSK, for short. [DISPLAY MAP] Using Moscow as the point of reference, where the time is UTC+3, the time zones range from MSK-1 in Kaliningrad to MSK+9 in Kamchatka. In fact, listing all eleven time zones in order, we have: Kaliningrad, Moscow, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Yakutsk, Vladivostok, Srednekolymsk, and Kamchatka. [END DISPLAY MAP]
And now for a few time-related idioms, proverbs, sayings, expressions, and phrases:

[It should be noted that the placement of the и’s in these sentences signals that the speaker wishes to emphasize the next word. ]
[ Also it should be mentioned that a Russian idiom with similar meaning is:
Дуракам закон не писан.
(The law is not written for fools.) ]
And besides that...
Лучше поздно, чем никогда.
(Better late, than never.)
And finally we have:
Ранняя птица может съесть червячка, но вторая мышь получает сыр.
(The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.)
A few useful review words which appear in the sample phrases include:
откладывать - to delay, to postpone, to put off
спешить - to hurry, make haste
бояться - to fear, to be afraid
ступить - to tread, to step on
дурак - fool, idiot
опоздать - to be late

400+ UKRAINIAN TROOPS CROSS into RUSSIA for REFUGE

More than 400 Ukrainian troops have been allowed to cross into Russia after requesting sanctuary. It’s the largest, but not the first, case of desertion into Russia by Ukrainian soldiers involved in Kiev’s military crackdown in the east of the country.
According to the Rostov Region’s border guard spokesman Vasily Malaev, a total of 438 soldiers, including 164 Ukrainian border guards, have been allowed into Russia on Sunday night.
One of the Ukrainians was seriously injured on his arrival in Russia. He was taken to the hospital for surgery, the officials added.
The other Ukrainian soldiers have been housed in a tent camp deployed near the checkpoint via which they entered Russian territory. The Russian border guards are providing them with food and bedding.
Footage taken by the Russian media at the scene showed the Ukrainian soldiers being handed ration packs and resting in their temporary shelter. Those who agreed to speak on camera said they were relieved to be in safety for the first time in weeks.
“We were given an order to leave out positions and go to Russia trough a corridor. We were told it would be safe. Of course they, I would say, made us go fast from behind,” one of the soldiers, a BMP driver who would not reveal his name or even show his face on camera, said.
“It was so bad back there. Hot, and so many deaths and bad things,” another one, Dmitry, said. “Folks can rest here. They gave us a chance to wash, gave us new clothes. We are thankful.”
“We have been in those fields for more than six months and are very tired,” he added.
Another one, Yaroslav, said he wishes to go back to his family in Ukraine.
“I want to do something peaceful. My contract expired four months ago,” he explained.
The Ukrainian Security Council said it is keeping in touch with the soldiers “through diplomatic channels,” but it did not give an exact number of how many troops had crossed the border.
“A Foreign Ministry representative is working with them, and negotiations over their return are now ongoing,” Ukraine Security Council representative Andrey Lysenko said.
On Sunday, the Ukrainian anti-government militia reported that it was in negotiations with a large contingent of Ukrainian troops they encircled in Lugansk region on a possible surrender. The negotiations were being hampered by the troops’ intention to destroy some 70 armored vehicles in their possession before laying down arms, which the militia wanted to capture intact.
The Gukovo border checkpoint, through which the Ukrainian troops crossed into the Russian territory, is located on Russia’s border with the Lugansk Region of Ukraine, indicating that these are the same troops that were negotiating with the militia. If so, it was not immediately clear whether the vehicles they had were really destroyed.
The flow of deserters from the ranks of Ukrainian Army and National Guard seems to be increasing amid the escalating violence in Donets and Lugansk Regions, where Kiev is fighting against armed anti-government militias.
In late July 41 Ukrainian troops fled to Russia to escape fighting in eastern Ukraine. They are now being prosecuted in Ukraine for deserting in the heat of battle.
Several Ukrainian units have been reported to recently to be cut off from supply lines after attempted offensive operations, which brought them behind the militia-controlled territories and close to the Russian border.
The Ukrainian troops, while far superior to the militia in terms of heavy weapons, suffer from poor logistics. Many soldiers complain about lacking even basic supplies like food and water on the frontline. The situation is aggravated by cases of apparent negligence from the command, with units being supplied with faulty equipment, coming under friendly fire and simply left behind while retreating from militia counter-attacks.
This causes serious morale problems in the army, with more critical voices saying the Ukraine de facto has no infantry troops and has no other way to fight but by leveling militia-held cities to the ground with artillery and air strikes.
There is a growing resistance to the military campaign among Ukrainian population, with several cases of mass protests against the latest mobilization drive, as mothers and wives of conscripts took to the streets to demand that their loved once not be drafted into the army. -RT.

I do not know how in the West, Russians believe the concept of Nazism and fascism as synonyms. When we say Kiev Nazis or fascists from Western Ukraine, we mean the same thing.
Namely, people who are obsessed with Hitler about the superiority of one race or nation over others.
In Western Ukrainian fascists (Nazis) has its heroes. This is Bandera, Shukhevych who were servants of Hitler in World War II.
So..There is a war between the Russians, the local population that lives here 1000 years and the Nazi government in Kiev, which the United States led to power.
As a result of the bloody coup, the Nazis from Western Ukraine came to power.
They are a minority, and in the case of democratic elections, they would never have come to power. Then the United States made a bloody coup, as they are able to do it all over the world.
Thus, the United States went to war against the Russian population of the South and East of Ukraine, who lived here 1,000 years and no where to go will not, of course.
I'd like to work for the Russian government, but do not work.
And actually just want to help as best I can. To bring the truth to the world. Free of charge and at the expense of their own time.
I do not know about a help from Russia. Maybe it goes. Also, do not know, maybe go help with the West for Kiev.
What else?
Russian Donbas really fighting against fascism! The Nazis came to power in Kiev seriously consider themselves a superior race. It's funny to hear for non-Ukrainians. But it is. Ukrainians in fact it is Russians. Western historians only in the 20th century had called their - Ukrainians .
Ukrainians do not fight against the Donbas, almost. Basically, fighting Nazis from western Ukraine.
In Donbass no Russian army. Here are fighting Russian who live here 1,000 years.
The first Russian state Kievan Rus was here.
They are the locals. And, of course, volunteers from around the world help us!
The State Dept. United States began the war , who arranged the illegal coup in Kiev.
And he led the Ukrain. Nazis to power.
Putin does not want the new lands, otherwise would have long ago captured the whole of the Ukraine, easy!

Malaysian airliner MH17 shot down video that clearly shows plane crash moment near Torez, Donetsk oblast – seized territory by Russian military in Ukraine.
Passenger airliner flight MH17 crashed in Donetsk oblast. The plane of the Malaysian Airlines was heading from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur carrying 295 people on board, 280 of whom are passengers and 15 crew members.
The plane having reportedly flown at 10K metres height, crashed near Snezhnoe-Torez village. Connection with the plane was lost at around 16.00.

In our opinion, the Mine is still WIP as the bunker models are from the Mod. We believe these models are placeholder for something bigger and more detailed. I'm taking a guess that the finished product will go deep underground.
Kamensk (Russian: Ка́менск) in the real world is the name of several inhabited localities in Russia. One of which is the Kamensk Crater. It is 25 km (16 mi) in diameter and the age is estimated to be 49.0 ± 0.2 million years old (Eocene). The crater is not exposed at the surface.[1] It may have formed at the same time as the smaller nearby crater Gusev.
