So we talk with him about it a bit, while he shows us around some of the most beautiful parts of Yamaguchi.

5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

The caricature of the “ugly American tourist” is a much-maligned species in international travel circles. But, valid or not, Americans seem to get the brunt of the criticism for their tacky tourist ways. Here are 10 cringeworthy ugly American tourist stereotypes.
1) I’m Wearing My Guns N’ Roses T-Shirt
Haven’t you seen Americans in get-ups like these when traveling? Knee socks and sandals, loud Hawaiian shirts, goofy hats, zinc covered noses, camera around the neck, map in hand. Nothing screams “tourist” like this ensemble. Consider it a fashion don’t.
2) Where are All My Valuables?
It's a handy and relatively secure place to keep money, a smart phone and other items front and center. Just know that its cringeworthy. Call it a fanny pack, belly bag, hip sack or waist wallet, don’t wear these things or you’re asking to be mocked, somewhat ironically, by the travel hipsters.
3) How Much Is That in Real Money?
Similar to the “can’t you speak English” type, some Americans abroad seem to be shocked that there’s a world of different currencies beyond their borders. They look at the unfamiliar bills and coins as Monopoly money, and are quite affronted that they can’t just pay in “real money”, meaning US dollars.
4) Do It Like We Do It Back Home
There are a lot of little luxuries Americans take for granted. Only when you leave the familiarity of home do you realize that some of these comforts aren’t universal. But some differences are worth opening your mind to and, shockingly, some things might even be better than back home... Or not.
5) I Have Spaghettios Back in the Room
There is a breed of close-minded, unadventurous ugly American tourist that doesn’t even try to go local when visiting new places. Convinced that they won’t like any foreign food, they pack a jar of peanut butter or a few boxes of Kraft Dinner to tide them over on their trip. Travel is an opportunity to get out of your box and comfort zone.
6) McDonalds, please?
There’s that cringeworthy American traveler who chooses to eat at familiar fast food chains even when venturing to culinary hotspots like France, Italy or Japan. What a waste to eat familiar burgers and fries when you could be sampling some local specialties.
7) Package tours
American tourist tends to stick to package tours and guided groups rather than risk going it alone. However, they leave little room for the spontaneity and serendipity that can really enhance the travel experience. You stick to the standard sites. Try exploring independently once in a while.
8) We Left Perfection to Visit Your Country
America is no utopia. Citizens of other countries might be more tolerant of “ugly American tourists” if they didn’t continually make the audacious assumption that America is the most envied place on the planet. So don't be that insufferable “USA #1” attitude and you might just help foster better world relations.
9) Is this School?
One of the more pervasive stereotypes that Americans are hit with is the assertion that they’ve traveled abroad with no intention of learning anything. Though several Americans do (obviously) travel with the hope of learning a little something, there’s a prominent theory that we’re all troglodytes in search of our next meal.
10) What, You’ve Never Heard of Springfield?
Several Americans travel abroad operating under the assumption that more foreigners have intimate knowledge of the United States. When asked where you’re from, most people haven’t actually heard of more cities than the biggies like New York and Los Angeles. Hey, have you heard of Ashdod, Israel? Yeah, then why would you expect someone from Europe to know where Duluth, Minnesota is?

POV Jurassic Park : The Ride River Adventure Universal Studios Hollywood
Take a Ride on The Jurassic Park River Adventure Raft at Universal Studios Hollywood California in 1080p HD.
The Jurassic Park River Adventure is a water-based amusement ride that is based on Steven Spielberg's hit film Jurassic Park. The Hollywood incarnation, called Jurassic Park: The Ride, was actually researched and built while the Jurassic Park film was still in its production phase. It opened first at Universal Studios Hollywood as Jurassic Park: The Ride on June 21, 1996. A copy of the ride, called the Jurassic Park River Adventure, was later built at Islands of Adventure at the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida in 1999. A third copy of the ride is also featured at Universal Studios Japan. There is little difference between the three rides, although the Hollywood version is slightly longer and considered to have the most show elements, and the Japan version was built as a mirror image of both the Hollywood and Orlando versions. A river rapids version of the attraction, which will be entitled the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, is planned for both Universal Studios Singapore in 2010, and Universal Studios Dubailand in 2012.
Among the the guests in attendance at the ride's grand opening celebration in 1996 were film cast members Jeff Goldblum, Ariana Richards, and Joseph Mazzello. Steven Spielberg also attended the opening, but requested that he be let off of the attraction before the 85-foot drop (he apparently makes this request every time he rides the attraction).
The main differences in the Hollywood version of the ride from the Florida and Japan versions include two Compsognathuses fighting over a popcorn box, a falling Ford Explorer tour jeep (from the first film) instead of the Velociraptor crate (which is featured in both the Orlando and Japan versions), as well as two encounters with the menacing Tyrannosaurus (both the Orlando and Japan versions feature only one).
A bloody set of Mickey Mouse ears can be seen floating in the water next to the abandoned tour raft, which is an obvious dig at the nearby Disneyland Resort. The hat formally had the name Michael sewn on it, which was a reference to Michael Eisner, CEO of the Walt Disney Company at the time of attraction's opening. The hat now has the name Kerr sewn on it in honor of Kerr Lordygan, the attraction's manager.
The Dilophosaurus attacks occur outside at the water pumping station, unlike the Florida and Japan versions where they occur inside of the Environmental Systems Building. After the second lift hill, the Hollywood version has a slightly bigger drop as well before it makes the 180 degree turn to the main drop. After the main drop, the shaving cream canister containing the zygotes from the film can be spotted to the riders' left just before arriving at the unload platform. Additionally, after the final drop, one more Dilophosaurus sprays guests with water just before the raft returns to the station.
According to a Universal Studios employee, every year, all of the employees take part in what they call a Duck Hunt. All employees write their name on a rubber duck toy, and place it into the rides river. They then turn the ride on, and the person whos duck completes the whole circuit of the ride (including the drop) wins a prize.
During Universal Studios Hollywood's annual Halloween Horror Nights in 2008, the ride was temporarily re-named Jurassic Park: Nightmare in keeping with the theme (Live Your Worst Nightmare) or Jurassic Park in the Dark. Alterations included shutting off most of the lights inside the Environmental Systems Building near the end of the ride, while the occasional strobe light illuminated violent scenes of dinosaurs tearing apart scientists and game wardens. Also, the tense Jurassic Park score during this portion of the ride was replaced with Welcome to the Jungle by Guns 'N' Roses.
