FRANKFURT - STUTTGART - BAYREUTH - KIRCHHEIM - Germany in 10 Days
During my 10-day stay in Germany during Winter break, I saw most beautiful sceneries and experienced the Christmas atmosphere at the Stuttgart Christmas Market. Just before the trip ended, we had a look at a historical place: Mödlareuth. The town, once nicknamed “Little Berlin”, was split in half during the cold war, keeping the citizens on either side operated for 37 years. Today, the museum “Deutsch-Deutsches Museum” features vehicles from the Soviet and American army, as well as many preserved objects from that time.

Saale river to Nuremburg (Halle to Nuremburg part 4 of 4)

From the Bridge of German Unity over the Saale river to Nuremburg. I visited Spernberg on the Saale as well as Potega and Blankenburg which can be seen in separate videos.
I leave the motorway to travel along the national roads and take in some wonderful scenery en route and especially Hiltpoltstein is a town in the district of Roth, 30 km north of Nuremberg.

Kloster Hirsau - Hirsau Abbey - Germany
Klosteranlagen in Hirsau
Das Kloster Hirsau war ein Benediktinerkloster in Hirsau im Nordschwarzwald. Meist meint man damit die Anlage St. Peter und Paul. Im weiteren Sinn umfasst die Bezeichnung jedoch auch deren Vorläufer.
Hirsau (vormals auch Hirschau) war zeitweise eines der bedeutendsten Klöster Deutschlands. Es diente der cluniazensischen Reformbewegung sehr früh als deutscher Stützpunkt. Von hier ging eine Reihe von Klostergründungen aus, aber auch die Erneuerung bestehender Gemeinschaften nach der sogenannten Hirsauer Reform. Zum Zeitpunkt seiner Errichtung im späten 11. Jahrhundert war St. Peter und Paul das baulich größte Kloster im deutschsprachigen Raum. Während des Pfälzischen Erbfolgekriegs brannte die Anlage 1692 aus und verfiel dann.

Hirsau Abbey, formerly known as Hirschau Abbey, was once one of the most important Benedictine abbeys of Germany. It is located in the Hirsau borough of Calw on the northern slopes of the Black Forest mountain range, in the present-day state of Baden-Württemberg. In the 11th and 12th century, the monastery was a centre of the Cluniac Reforms, implemented as Hirsau Reforms in the German lands. The complex was devastated during the War of the Palatine Succession in 1692 and not rebuilt.
