Jalal-Abad is the administrative and economic centre of Jalal-Abad Region in southwestern Kyrgyzstan. Its area is 88 square kilometres , and its resident population was 97,172 in 2009. It is situated at the north-eastern end of the Fergana valley along the Kögart River valley, in the foothills of the Babash Ata mountains, very close to Uzbekistan border.

  • 1. Arslanbob Walnut Forest Arslanbob
    Arslanbob is a village, sub district, valley, mountain range, and a large wild walnut forest in the Jalal-Abad Region of Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan's first known export to Europe was the Arslanbob walnut. Two waterfalls are located in the area which attract tourists, pilgrims and other visitors during the spring and summer months. The population of Arslanbob was 11,291 in 2009. Most of the population are Uzbek, and less than 5% is Kyrgyz, Russian, Tatar, Tajik, or Chechen.
