Jämtland County is a county or län in the middle of Sweden consisting of the provinces of Jämtland and Härjedalen, along with minor parts of Hälsingland and Ångermanland, plus two small uninhabited strips of Lapland and Dalarna. Jämtland County constitutes 12 percent of Sweden's total area, 49,443 km2 and is the third largest county in the country. The county capital is Östersund and the county governor, appointed by the Swedish government, is Jöran Hägglund, who leads the administrative board.   • 4. Sonfjallet National Park Harjedalen
    Sonfjället, also spelled Sånfjället , is a national park situated in Härjedalen, in central Sweden. It was established in 1909, making it one of Europe's oldest national parks. Following a land extension in 1989, it now covers 103 km2 . The mountainous area is filled with large boulders, intersected by streaming lakes. Trailing around the mountain area is also a widespread forest area. The park is noted for the animals living in it: a resident bear tribe, and a large elk tribe. Other animals are also common, including wolves and lynx.

    The Coral Cave is a marble cave at the northernmost tip of Jämtland, near Ankarvattnet, Sweden. It was discovered in 1985. So far, six kilometres of it have been explored, making it Sweden's longest cave. Members of the public are not allowed to visit the Coral Cave without a guide.

    Fulufjället National Park is a national park in central Sweden. Its total area is 385 km2 , located entirely within Älvdalen Municipality in the province of Dalarna. It is named after the mountain Fulufjället, 1,044 m high. It covers the Swedish part of the Fulufjället massif, which is the southernmost part of the Scandes in Sweden. The Norwegian part of the massif is protected by Norway's Fulufjellet National Park. The park is one of Sweden's most recent, inaugurated in September 2002 by King Carl XVI Gustaf at a ceremony attended by a few thousand spectators.     Skuleskogen National Park is a Swedish national park in Västernorrland County, on the coast of the Baltic Sea, in northern Sweden. It covers 30.62 kilometres , constituting the eastern part of the Forest of Skule. The park is characterized by a very rough topology with many rocky peaks, of which the highest is Slåttdalsberget, 280 metres in altitude, rising directly from the sea. The topography is also marked by the presence of deep crevasses and caves. This particular topology can be found throughout the entire High Coast , a region of Sweden so named because it constitutes the highest section of the coast of the Baltic Sea.
