Kandanos or Kantanos , also Candanos, is a town and former municipality in the Chania regional unit, Crete, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kantanos-Selino, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 73.081 km2 . It was part of the former Selino Province which covered the southwest of the island. The town has 421 residents.

Lake Kournas is a lake on the island of Crete, Greece, near the village of Kournas. It is in the Apokoronas municipality of Chania regional unit close to the border with Rethymno regional unit, 47 km from the town of Chania. Kournas is a fairly large village perched on a hill overlooking the lake. Crete's only freshwater lake, Lake Kournas, is relatively large, with a perimeter of 3.5 km. Although almost all touristic leaflets say that it is possible to walk around the lake, that is not true. At least not at the end of the rain season . There is a nature preserve on the Southwest of the lake. But there is a rustic road from the North of the lake to the Hills on the West of the lake too. 2. Elafonissi Beach Elafonissi
Elafonisi is an island located close to the southwestern corner of the Mediterranean island of Crete, of which it is administratively a part, in the regional unit of Chania. When the weather is fine it is possible to walk to the island through the shallow water. The island is a protected nature reserve. It is known for its pink sand beaches, created by tidal and wave-induced deposits of pigmented microorganisms living in a symbiotic relationship with native seaweed.

My Trip To Kedrodasos Beach - Crete ✔

➤ “Kedrodasos (i.e. cedar forest) is an amazing beach, located 76km southwest of Chania and 1km east of the famous Elafonissi lagoon. The Kedrodasos beach is filled with juniper trees (mistakenly confused with cedars) and sanddunes, reminding of tropical Lebanese beaches. These are the small twisted junipers (juniper species are Juniperus oxycedrus subsp. macrocarpa and Juniperus phoenicea). If you ever visit the beach, you should note that the trees are very fragile and need respect.
The cedar grove covers a big area of about 110 acres and is a magnificent place. It is a wonderful choice for camping and a favorite beach for naturists. It is a very nice beach with white sand and some smooth and flat rocks in places. Fortunately, there are no facilities nearby, making this secluded beach, one of the latest untouched paradises in Europe. Moreover, since the beach is secluded, you should keep it clean and not littered.”

Crete | The El Greco Museum in Fodele. For a particularly rewarding and intimate experience, take the bus or drive from Heraklion to the tiny village of Fodele, about half an hour's ride westwards.
After leaving the main motorway at the sign, a narrow and winding lane runs through the hills that leads you to Fodele, the birthplace of one of the greatest painters of all time -- El Greco.
El Greco was born in the late 15th century as Domenikos Theotokopoulos. You can still see the tiny church where he must have gone as a child, before growing up and moving to Italy and Spain where he painted his masterpieces.
Some reproductions of these masterpieces, lit up the back and are on display at the El Greco Museum at the far end of Fodele. The humble farmhouse that serves as the museum lies among the quiet woods and sheep, enhancing the spiritual magic within.

Kreta | Crete - Kritsa - one of the oldest villages in Crete

Kritsa to jedna z najstarszych i najbardziej uroczych wsi położonych na Krecie. Wieś ta znajduje się na terenie gminy Agios Nicolaos. Od miasta tego dzieli ją nieco ponad 10 km. Z około 1600 mieszkańcami (stan na 2001 rok) to jedna z największych wsi na Krecie. Kritsa otoczona gajami oliwnymi położona jest na wschodnim zboczu góry Castello (Kastello) na wysokości ok. 375 metrów nad poziomem morza. Obecnie teren wsi podzielony jest na cztery dzielnice zwane Palemilos, Koukistres, Christos i Pergiolikia.
