1. St. Lorenz Basilica Kempten
St. Lorenz Basilica is a baroque minor Basilica in Kempten, Bavaria, named after the Christian martyr Lawrence of Rome. It is the former abbey church of the Benedictine Kempten Abbey. It is currently used as the parish church of the Roman Catholic parish of St. Lawrence in the Diocese of Augsburg. A church was built on the site in the 13th Century but was burned down in 1478. Roman Giel of Gielsberg, the Abbot of Kempten, commissioned the master builder Michael Beer from Graubünden to build a new church to serve the parish and monastery. The foundation stone of the Basilica of St. Lawrence was laid on 13 April 1652. This was one of the first large churches built in Germany after the end of the Thirty Years' War. Kempten is a town in Allgäu, a region in southern Germany. St. Lorenz Basilica, dating from the 17th century, has 2 domed towers and an elaborate interior. The baroque Kornhaus, a former grain storehouse, houses the Allgäu Museum’s art collection.

Across the Iller River, Archaeological Park Cambodunum has Roman remains, including thermal baths. To the west, Schwärzenlifte Eschach is a winter resort with ski trails.

Wir haben im Colosseum Center in Kempten geparkt. Dieses Parkhaus kann man wirklich nur empfehlen. Wir starten den Rundgang in der Bahnhofstrasse vor dem Forum Allgäu. Es geht die Bahnhofstrasse hinunter und weiter in die Fischerstraße. Von dort geht es weiter auf den Rathausplatz und vor bis zum St. Mang Platz Anschließend geht es wieder zurück bis zum Rathausplatz und dann über die Kronenstraße in die Gerberstraße. Über den Residenzplatz geht es weiter bis zur Basilika.
