Saint Peter’s Basilica is one of the largest Catholic churches in the world. Its gigantic size boasts a length of 730 feet, a width of 500 feet, a height of 452 feet and a dome diameter of 137 feet. The total area of the basilica covers 22,000 square meters and it can hold over 20.000 people. Inside you can admire 11 chapels, 45 altars and 10,000 square meters of mosaics, as well as a series of invaluable art masterpieces. Beyond the numbers, the symbolic value of the Basilica is very strong and attracts an impressive number of pilgrims from all over the world who buy tickets to get into St. Peter's.
