Cape Hillsborough National Park is a volcanic peninsula located approximately 40 km north-west of Mackay. The peninsular is largely covered by rainforest and rises to an elevation of 267 m. The cape was named by Lieutenant James Cook during his first voyage to the Pacific in 1770.

Sydney Harbour Area (December 2015)
Spent 25-30th December (2015) in Sydney (my 2nd time in Sydney). Sydney's public train transport is very good and cheap too. Auckland's trains in NZ don't even run between 25 December and 5 January where as Sydney's trains DO, even on a public holiday train every 15 minutes. And trains run from the airport too. If visiting Sydney, get an opol or something card, cheaper than paper tickets (when I was there, they're going to phase out paper tickets in 2016 saw large signs).
The waterfront has several popular places to check out, the harbour bridge, opera house, main ferry terminal, a fish n chips place which serves healthy and yummy fish n chips and they take only 4 minutes roughly to get it out to you. I also like their gelato icecream stalls, I mean, Ferrero rocher icecream?! Tasty.
How to use Sydney's Opal Card
Sydney has an extensive public transport system that includes trains, buses, ferries and light rail. An electronic ticketing system called Opal allows you to use one ticket to use across all these types of transport. Koorda - Western Australia
Koorda has a number of lovely old buildings. The Koorda Museum was originally a hospital, and it bears witness to this past with displays of historical hospital and surgical equipment in one of the original wards. You can also view displays of farm machinery and homestead effects used by the area's early pioneers.
The current Post Office, first opened in 1937, still operates in its original form. The CWA Community Centre in Railway Street, originally the Koorda Shire Council, is also close to its original structure, as is the Koorda Hotel, popular with artists because of its imposing architecture. The Pioneer Hall and Avenue of Trees is part of the Koorda Heritage Trail, a 2km town walk which commemorates the contribution of Koorda's pioneers to the development of the district.
There are numerous scenic areas to stop, most with public barbecue facilities. Mollerin Rock, Newcarlbeon and Badgerin Rock are popular spots to enjoy the surroundings and perhaps see some of the local inhabitants - kangaroo, echidna, and dozens of bird varieties. The Lions Park is a popular picnic stop in town.
Each spring, the wildflowers turn the reserves surrounding Koorda into a carpet of colour. Many examples of the various wildflower species found around Koorda can be seen at the Wildflower Park (part of the Koorda Heritage Trail), a 10km drive from town.
This privately-owned 28 hectare park has public barbecue facilities available for visitors. Wildflowers can also be viewed at Wheat belt Dried Flowers. (Phone 08 9684 3025 for an appointment).
Early in September, Koorda hosts its annual Agricultural Show, which brings together past and present Koorda residents, along with a large number of visitors. The show features many agricultural events and displays, including the Corn Dollies, the emblem of the shire.
Corn Dolly making is an ancient craft, originating in the days when it was believed a spirit lived in the cornfields. To care for the spirit at harvest time, and ensure the success of the following year's harvest, a corn dolly was made for the spirit to rest in. Frank Lodge (who came from Durham in England) is credited with bringing the first corn dolly to this area in 1911. The local Agricultural Society conducts workshops on corn dolly making.

Kirribilli Markets. (Sydney, Australia)
No matter if you are looking for clothes, jewellery, books or something that only you could think about, this is definitively the right place for you. This market first opened in 1976. All the money raised by it is destinated to fund programs in the Kirribilli centre.
The best way to arrive at this market is by train, you can catch up a Train in Town Hall Station and get off at Milsons Point Station (find the map at the end of the article). Walking outside the station you will see the market.
The interesting thing about this market (at least for me) is that you can find everything and the prices are really interesting. If you are not to fancy, you will be able to find some designer clothes at $5 AUD a piece or less in excellent conditions (this is definitively a great way to improve your wardrove).
You will be able to find 2 different markets, the Art, Design and Fashion Market, held on the second Sunday of the month and the General Market, held on the fourth Saturday of the month. If you would like to find the exact dates for each market, please visit the following link.
