Klingenthal is a town in the Vogtland region, in the Free State of Saxony, south-eastern Germany. It is situated directly on the border with the Czech Republic opposite the Czech town of Kraslice, 29 km southeast of Plauen, and 33 km northwest of Karlovy Vary. The Aschberg towers above the town at 936 m. The extremely elongated town, 10.5 km from end to end, is surrounded by numerous woods of firs. The town is bisected by the Döbra and Zwota rivers. These two rivers unite at the Czech-German border to form the Svatava river, which in turn flows into the Ohře river at Sokolov.

Buchenwald concentration camp was a German Nazi concentration camp established on Ettersberg hill near Weimar, Germany, in July 1937, one of the first and the largest of the concentration camps on German soil, following Dachau's opening just over four years earlier. Prisoners from all over Europe and the Soviet Union—Jews, Poles and other Slavs, the mentally ill and physically-disabled from birth defects, religious and political prisoners, Roma and Sinti, Freemasons, Jehovah's Witnesses , criminals, homosexuals, and prisoners of war—worked primarily as forced labor in local armaments factories. From 1945 to 1950, the camp was used by the Soviet occupation authorities as an internment camp, known as NKVD special camp number 2. Today the remains of Buchenwald serve as a memorial and perm...

Burg Mylau im Vogtland HD.mp4

Die Burg ist die beste erhaltene Mittelalterburg im Vogland.Kaiser Karl IV besuchte 1347 die Burg und gab Mylau das Stadtrecht.Er und auch seine beiden Söhne bauten die Burg weiter aus.1400 wurden teile der Burg zerstört.Beim Wiederaufbau endstanden zwei mächtige Vorburgen.1422 ging sie aus Dank für geleistete Dienste an den Kurfürsten von Sachsen.Heute ist dort ein Museum über Geologie und Bergbau der Region und Geschichte der Burg.

The most scenic way to travel to the upper Erzgebirge region is on the Fichtelberg Steam Railway.
Since 1897, it has been steaming along the narrow-gauge tracks from Cranzahl
to the health resort town of Oberwiesenthal. You can experience the beauty
of the Erzgebirge landscape during this comfortable journey every day, all year
round. Look out the window as dense spruce forests, green mountain meadows
and little mountain villages pass by. During the 1 hour long journey through the
mountains and valleys, the Fichtelberg line climbs around 240 metres. Perhaps
the best place to experience a bit of railway nostalgia is the mighty, 110 m
long, 23 m high, Hüttenbach steel trestle viaduct, just before you reach Ober-
wiesenthal station. Keen hikers can complete their trip with a walk along the
tourist train adventure path (Erlebnispfad Bimmelbahn), making a total journey
length of 21 km.
