Dutchie Does MotoVlog #9 – Lichtjesroute Eindhoven 2016 (City of Lights)

In commemoration of the liberation of Eindhoven, on September 18, 1944, every year an event takes place in the city of light of the Netherlands which underscores the nickname of Eindhoven (City of Light).

This event takes place from Sunday, September 18th to Sunday October 9th.

So, I decided to do some filming of this event by bike. You'll be seeing just some highlights which I tried to capture as best as possible. This was the main focus of this video. I tried to keep the video under 10min but I haven't managed to do so.

Observation tower Besthmenerberg Ommen

It's time for another summer forrest walk, this time in the area of Ommen.

The particulair part of this forrest is called the Besthmenerberg which is located near the Steile Oever (steep embankment in English). This forrrest has an observation tower and a sort of outdoor theather in the woods.

When I Filmed there was a scouting group near the tower, who had abseiled from it. The leader told me that only he had abseiled as he found it too dangerous for the kids as the structure is quite open, and thus not as safe as a closed wall when abseiling. If you look closely you can see the ropes attached to the tower.


I filmed this in early august and the tempratures where extremely hot (30+ degrees C), even the trees could not provide enough shade against the heat of the sun (I really do not like tempratures above 25 C).

What a fun ride :)
Safety-first so I kept a safe margine as it was the first time in the rain - it was a little scary - having an instructor in front helped a lot

Normally the VADO MOTOR EVENTS were organized with more groups and more participants.
Due to new regulations of the circuit the groups are smaller this time.
No marshals along the track. No Photographer.
Because of the rain even less people showed up as expected.

Driving with VADO means having a fun experience on a circuit.
You have 2 Groups; Tour and Sport.
Within these groups you have different levels and instructors.
So you can drive in the group of your own level within Tour and Sport
When it goes to fast you move a level down and vice versa
You will drive 4 Session of 15 minutes. In between the sessions you will have a break of 15 minutes.

Overtaking is not allowed unless the group takes turns driving behind the instructor.
In this way every round somebody new is following the instructor to see where he brakes and turns.
The circuit in Lelystad has a perfect tarmac with lots of grip.
Lelystad Police Academy is a technical circuit with all kinds of speeds and bends.
The most are right hand bends and perfect to practice your knee-down.

If you want to practice driving your motorbike in a safe environment without the hazards of the public road.
Join in on one of these occasions. There are other organizations who organize events as well on Lelystad.
I am not a motorbike driver myself. Don't own a bike. The public road is a no-go. I rather stay on closed premises :)
That's why I really like the Silverline Rental shop in IJsselstein. They give me the opportunity to go out there on a new safe bike
with ABS and all that!
