Lake of Gruyère is an artificial lake in the La Gruyère region of the Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland. The reservoir was formed between the cities of Bulle and Fribourg, by building the Rossens Dam on the Sarine river in 1948. The arch dam has a height of 83 m and a crest length of 320 m. The reservoir filled in about four months after completion. The dam is operated by the Groupe E SA. The remains of the castle of Pont and a chapel are located on the Ile d'Ogoz, one of the five islets in the lake. The Viaduc du Lac de Gruyère of the A12 motorway was built in the 1970s.   • 1. Le Moleson Moleson
    The Moléson is a mountain of the Swiss Prealps, overlooking the region of Gruyères in the canton of Fribourg. It lies at the northern end of the chain between Lake Geneva and the valley of the Sarine. The summit of the mountain can be easily reached, a cable car station being located near the summit at 1,982 metres as well as a meteorological station. From the village of Moléson-sur-Gruyères a funicular leads to Plan Francey , from where the cable car starts.

  • 2. Allmendhubel Murren
    The Allmendhubel is a hill above Mürren, overlooking the valley of Lauterbrunnen in the canton of Bern. Its summit is easily accessible from Mürren by a funicular, the Allmendhubelbahn, which reaches a height of 1,907 metres. A restaurant is also located near the top. In winter, the Allmendhubel is part of a ski area and includes several ski lifts.
