La grulla común es una de las aves más grandes de Europa, que mide alrededor de 140 cm de longitud y pesa entre 4 y 6 Kg. Todos los inviernos, unas 75.000 grullas viajan a España, principalmente a Extremadura y Andalucía occidental, donde encuentran sus lugares de alimentación y dormideros. En este viaje, las grullas recorren unos 3000 kilómetros desde los países del norte de Europa en los que pasan la temporada de primavera-verano.
The common crane is one of the biggest birds of Europe, ranging in length around 140 cm and in weight between 4 and 6 Kg. Every winter, about 75,000 cranes travel to Spain, mainly Extremadura and western Andalusia, where they find their feeding areas and communal roosts. On this trip, the cranes travel about 3000 kilometers from the northern European countries where they spend the spring and summer.
