Langenlois is a town in the district of Krems-Land in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. Famous for its wine production, it is also home to the Loisium, a centre celebrating and advertising the local wine and built by the American deconstructionist architect Steven Holl.

1. Mauthausen Memorial Mauthausen
The Mauthausen–Gusen concentration camp complex consisted of the Mauthausen concentration camp on a hill above the market town of Mauthausen plus a group of nearly 100 further subcamps located throughout Austria and southern Germany. The three Gusen concentration camps in and around the village of St Georgen/Gusen, just a few kilometres from Mauthausen, held a significant proportion of prisoners within the camp complex, at times exceeding the number of prisoners at the Mauthausen main camp. The Mauthausen main camp operated from the time of the Anschluss, when Austria was annexed into the German Third Reich in 8 August 1938, to 5 May 1945, at the end of the Second World War. Buena Vista Winery Wine Tool Museum Show

High atop the Buena Vista Champagne Cellars is a unique, first-of-its-kind museum showcasing a collection of historic viticulture tools from France. Requiring a special permit from the French government to bring this collection to America, the tools are theatrically displayed in beautiful, artistic patterns and set against the ancient stone walls, carved from the Mayacamas Mountains, dating back to 1864.

Join us for a unique experience where you will be guided through a twenty minute light, sound and visual show, presenting the history of winemaking through its tools and the life of the vivacious and eccentric founder, the self-proclaimed “Count of Buena Vista.” While enjoying this historic tour, you will be invited to taste exclusive current release wines and explore the recently renovated property and Champagne Cellars.

Museum Tours are available daily by-appointment at 11 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM (walk-up visitors will be accommodated as availability allows; groups of eight or more require advance reservation). In addition to the $25 tour and tasting, families will also be offered a choice of a museum-only experience for $10 per person, and children with paying adult are free.
