Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and its beaches are absolutely amazing. Cyprus has one of the oldest histories dating as far back as 1100 BC. Try taking a trip to Salamis, a city which was once host to successive superpowers including Assyrians, Egyptians, Persians and Romans; or opt for Soli, an ancient Cypriot city kingdom located near Lefke and linked with St Mark. Though excavation in Soli is yet to be completed, there are a number of ancient churches, museums and other monuments are scattered across the island.

1-)St. Hilarion Kalesi
Saint Hilarion Kalesi, Kuzey Kıbrıs’ın sıradağları olan Beşparmak dağları üzerindeki 3 kaleden en batı kısmında yer alan kaledir. Denizden 700 metre yükseklikte oldukça sarp kayalıkların olduğu bir bölgede inşa edilmiştir. Kale ismini Kudüs’ten Kıbrıs’a göç eden ve son yıllarını burada ibadet ederek geçiren bir azizden almıştır. Bu kalenin ünlü film yapımcısı Walt Disney’i de etkilediğine inanılmaktadır ki, Pamuk prenses ve yedi cüceler çizgi filminde bu kaleyi mekân olarak seçtiği düşünülmektedir. Ayrıca Kaleye çıktığınızda eşsiz bir Girne manzarası da sizi beklemektedir.
2-)Büyük Han
Büyük Han, adadaki Osmanlı eserleri arasında en önemlisidir. 1572 yılında yapımına başlanmış 1579 yılında tamamlanmıştır. Bursa’daki Koza han örnek alınarak inşa edilmiştir. Alt kat odaları dükkan, üst kat odaları ise dinlenme odaları olarak tasarlanmıştır.
3-)Tarihi Girne Limanı
Liman artık eskisi kadar ticari amaçlar ile kullanılmasa da, turistik amaçlar için hala kullanılmaktadır, bölge halkının da sıklıkla ziyaret ettiği Girne limanı sürekli aktif olan barları ve balıkçı restoranları ile gezilmesi gereken önemli yerlerden birisidir.
4-)Kantara Kalesi
Kantara Kalesi yine St. Hilarion kalesi gibi beşparmak dağları üzerinde kurulmuştur, konum olarak en doğuda olan ve Karpaz yarım adasını kontrol edebilecek stratejik öneme sahiptir. Şehir merkezlerine uzak olsada yolu çok zevkli ve doğa manzarasına sahiptir.
5-)Girne Kalesi
Dünyanın en eski batık ticaret gemisine ev sahipliği yapan Girne kalesi aynı zamanda Girnenin önemli sembollerinden bir tanesidir. Kale farklı uygarlıklara ev sahibi olduğundan sürekli mimari değişimlere uğramıştır.
6-)Salamis Antik Kenti
Gazimağusa bölgesinde bronz çağında kurulduğu düşünülen Salamis Antik Kentinin içinde Roma dönemine ait gymnasium, forum, agora ve hamam gibi kamu yapıları bulunmaktadır.
7-)Selimiye Camisi (St. Sophia Katedrali)
Luzinyan krallarının taç giyme törenlerinin gerçekleştirildiği Selimiye camisi 1208 yılında inşaatına başlanmış 1326 yılında ibadete açılmıştır. Osmanlı döneminde binaya çift minare eklenerek katedral camiye çevirilmiştir.
8-)Dağdaki Bayrak
Lefkoşa’nın bir çok bölgesinden görülebilen Bayrak Beşparmak dağlarının güney yamacında ışıklandırılmış gündüzleri KKTC bayrağı geceleri ise sırası ile yıldız, ay-yıldız, ay yıldızlı Türk bayrağı ve son olarak KKTC bayrağına dönüşmektedir.
9-)Soli Antik Kenti
Soli, adanın Lefke kıyılarında yer alan antik kentlerinden bir tanesidir. Arap akınlarından dolayı terk edilmiştir. Antik kentin içerisinde Soli Bazilikası ve tiyatrosu ziyaretçi akınına uğramaktadır.
10-)Dağdaki Efsanevi Tank
1974 Barış harekatı sırasında Lapta muharebesinde oldukça dik ve yamaç selvili bölgesinde meydana gelen mayın patlaması sonucu infilak etmiştir. Bugün hala olduğu bölgede açık hava müzesi olarak sergilenmektedir.
11-) Lala Mustafa Paşa Camisi (St. Nicholas Katedrali)
Luzinyan döneminde inşa edilen yapı, Akdeniz coğrafyasındaki en önemli gotik yapılardan bir tanesidir. Luzinyan kralları önce Lefkoşadaki St. Sophia katedralinde Kıbrıs kralı daha sonra St. Nicholas katedralinde Kudüs kralı olarak taç giyerlerdi.
12-)St. Barnabas Manastırı ve İkon Müzesi
Salamis Antik kentinin batısında yer alan manastır, Salamis kentinde ;Yahudi bir ailenin çocuğu olan ve eğitim için gittiği kudüs şehrinde Hristiyanlığı kabul eden St. Barnabas anısına inşa edilmiştir. Manastır içinde Kilise, avlu manastır odaları ve St. Barnabas’ın mezarının bulunduğu şapelden meydana gelmiştir.

Kyrenia, is a city on the northern coast of Cyprus, noted for its historic harbour and castle. It is under the de facto control of Northern Cyprus.
Kyrenia Castle at the east end of the old harbour is a spectacular site. The castle dates back to Byzantine times and has served the Byzantines, Crusaders, Venetians, Ottomans, and British. Within its walls there is a 12th-century chapel containing reused late Roman capitols, and a shipwreck museum. Huge round towers that the Venetians built in 1540 occupy the corners. These strengthened the castle against artillery.

Troodos is the largest mountain range in Cyprus, located roughly in the center of the island. The highest peak is Mount Olympus at 1,952 meters, which hosts four ski slopes. The Troodos mountain range stretches across most of the western side of Cyprus.
There are many Byzantine monasteries,churches on mountain peaks and famous mountain resorts. And nestling in its valleys and picturesque mountains are villages clinging to terraced hill slopes. The area has been known since antiquity for its mines, which for centuries supplied copper to the entire Mediterranean.
In the Byzantine period it became a great centre of Byzantine art, as churches and monasteries were built in the mountains, away from the threatened coastline.

Pedoulas is a village in the Nicosia District of Cyprus, located at an altitude of 1100m in the Troodos Mountains. It is known for its 12 churches, varying from a 15th-century chapel to a 1930's cathedral. The Church of Holy Cross is the main church of the community. Its construction began in 1933 and completed in 1935.
