London-Birmingham: First time riding a train in the UK
London-Birmingham is a very common route of train in the UK. The train departs London Euston station and after several stops arrives at Birmingham New Street.
Virgin has the fastest trains, but we purchased our tickets with Chiltern, as they had better prices. The trip was about 1 hour longer, but the train was comfortable and had free wifi.
Birmingham is the first city we will visit in the UK. It will be featured in the next vlog.

Back in Northampton with Broken Bones | Ep 25
E25 Weekly Vlog of Australian road trip and Northampton life
This week Magnus finished his Across Australia Tour with the Chinese and started the long trip back across Australia via the northern route. He gave Mavi a workout and captured the majestic scenery of this part of Western Australia.
Wendy accepted an invitation to host an artisan stall at the Artist Table Summer Night Market in Northampton. The geese grew and the sun shone. A wonderful week.
Only two week's now before Magnus returns from Australia and the narrowboat cruising begins again. We can't wait!

SNEAKING INTO AN ABANDONED 18TH CENTURY BRITISH HAT FACTORY!!
(Company was Wilson and Stafford not Stratford sorry folks!)
Atherstone hat factory aka Britannia works was opened in 1826 and used as a hub for multiple local companies until 1896 when Wilson and Stafford hats took over the site. From then until its closure in 1999 the premises stayed the main factory for W+S hats sending there products world wide and dominating the midlands low cost hat manufacturing from other companies.
Wilson and Stafford specialised in felt caps, mainly the billy-cock cap (a felt hat commonly worn by slaves) because of this W+S had multiple contracts from slave owners for them to supply hats for their slaves. however a range of different hats were made and sold by the company.
The company even supplied troops throughout wars such as the Crimean wars (pre britannia works hq). unfortunately after world war 2 the felt hat decided rapidly in fashion and by the 1970s older style hat factories like this were closing leaving only 3 remaining in Atherstone, Wilson and Stafford, Denham and Hargraves and Vero and Everitts. by the 1970s W+S had brought out both other factories but had to close them by the 1980s, leaving themselves struggling on until 1999.
plans from 2008 to demolish for housing and retail sites have been proposed but never carried through.

How much equality among social classes does exist in France?
Is equality among social classes in France something that is existing? How are social classes in France living happily together or is there a big gap between them? What is the situation in France when we are talking about social classes, ethnic groups? Are they co-existing in peace or ignoring each other completely? France has always known social classes, but also is it one of their pillars that equality must be lived.
Living like a God in France is a saying applicable to vacationers in France, but absolutely not to the French themselves: to them, life is nothing but worrisome. They are facing high unemployment rates, fear of new terror attacks and an important political division. What is left of pillars that are the basis of the French republic: Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité? And what does it mean actually, to be French, today? Dutch Parisian Wilfred de Bruijn uncovers an intriguing country, full of contradictions, far away from the cliches we all know.
The ideal of equality was the main driving force behind the French Revolution, but does equality really exist in France? Wilfred de Bruijn explores the gap between the different ethnic groups in his hometown of Paris in search of an answer. From the students of the prestigious Ecole de la Legion d'Honneur who talk lovingly about the republican values to the real people of Saint Denis that hold a much different discourse: Officially, I'm French, said a Muslim in the street, but not as French as the whites. In a different world, the 7th and 8th arrondissement, the old privileged elite of Paris lives, still holding on to their entitlement, despite the fact that the French nobility officially no longer exists. At the same time, in the suburbs of Paris there are no privileges and what was previously expressed in rap music and violent riots threatens to turn into radicalization and terrorism. This is a short film of a trip to Dundee, Starting from Wellingborough
on the train to St Pancras where Keith and I film trains coming into the Station . We then have to walk across the road to Kings Cross where our journey to Dundee starts from, Again we do a bit more filming of the East Coast trains, The outward journey will be on part two. in a day or twos time.Hope you will like this part.
