Tree in Middle of Nowhere Aerial

A Random tree that has been damaged in a prior storm struggles to grow on the side of the hiway near Milo Alberta. A contrast of living and dead tree limbs create a interesting picture.

The new Cannington Bypass extension opened on Thursday 17th December 2015. The Extension designed to completely avoid the village was paid for by EDF Energy amongst several other projects in the area...like Washford Roundabout near Watchet, and will take away all the Heavy Construction Traffic of the future Hinkley Point 'C' Reactor. The Road links the A39 at the Cannington West Roundabout to the C182 Hinkley Road at The Cannington North Roundabout. The Road slices through several notable local places, Brymore School, Withiel Farm and Drive, Sandy Lane and latter parts of Chads Hill which lead to Castle Hill Quarry. These are some of my customers and where Withiel Drive ends i have a little detour to the new Road for access...
The Road is One Mile long and really smooth... quite an enjoyable drive. Hopefully the Road will fulfill it's purpose long term and keep Heavy Traffic away from our Village.

Ireland Galway Oughterard Guitar & Flute Lament - Traditional Music Landscape Scenery

CENTURIES OF LAST GOODBYES...
I met these two musicians last night in Oughterard village in Connemara - inland between Clifden and Galway City . Saidhbh Gavan and Gerry D'Arcy are well known traditional players in the area and a font of information on old Irish music. This performance, recorded thanks to Rory - the proprietor of the popular Powers Thatch Pub, is a beautiful rendition of a lament written by a James McGarvey in the 19th Century, most likely as he pined for his native home from across the Atlantic in America. The place name in the song 'Sliabh Gallion brae' is a mountain in the Sperrin region of Ulster, 8 miles from the town of Magherafelt. Accordingly the dialect is heavily influenced by Scottish connections. The Irish poet and song collector Joseph Campbell (1879-1944) often wrote in this Ulster Scots dialect. W Scotland and Ulster shared a common culture for many centuries, often united as a single entity known as 'The Kingdom Of The Isles' whose most enduring clan rulers, the McDonnells, still reside in their ancestral home of Glenarm Castle.
Beginning in the 1700's a series of mass emigrations to America and Europe began from Ireland, for both religious and economic reasons. First a Scots Irish wave of some 400,000 in the 1700's, then from the Great Famine of 1847 onwards a constant flow of Irish well into the early 1900's totalling millions.
Very, very few Irish emigrants to America would ever see these green shores again as they pressed onward to forge a living in a new land. But owing to their musical genius, we can experience a deep sense of that longing for a place which still existed within them. Thanks to public record offices in places like Dublin, Belfast and New York, we can trace that final great Atlantic journey and rekindle old connections with the Irish and Scots diaspora.
All the scenery in this video is immediately around Oughterard in Co Galway - a friendly and lively village on the shores of Lough Corrib with ferry access to it's islands and the historic castle town of Cong in Co Mayo.
