  • 2. Glendale Falls Middlefield Massachusetts
    Glendale Falls is a waterfall and the name of an open space preserve in Middlefield, Massachusetts owned and managed by the Trustees of Reservations. The falls, fed by the waters of Glendale Brook are one of the longest waterfall runs in Massachusetts.Adjacent to the falls on the north side lies the stone foundation of an 18th-century grist mill operated by the long-defunct Glendale Farm. The farm was established in the early 1770s by a future Revolutionary War veteran named John Rhoads. The initial success of the farm led to the construction of what is now Clark Wright Road, the sole means of accessing the falls by car. The farm was not successful for long, however; by 1799 the property was sold and Rhoads was gone.The preserve was established in 1964.

    Stanley Park Stanley Park in a non-profit privately owned park including an arboretum and botanical garden, located in Westfield, Massachusetts. It is open to the public daily without charge from May to November., and although the park is closed during the winter people can still enter the park at their own risk. The duck pond area, is monitored 24/7 with three security cameras, that you can access on the park's website page https://www.stanleypark.org/webcams.html. These security cameras were installed just about 6 months after three teenagers killed a Muscovy Duck, in November 11th, 2011. Westfield Bank donated the security cameras, after public outcry that the park did not have any surveillance on the duck pond area. Last year a volunteer at the park created a memorial sign to be placed...
