Mo i Rana a town and the administrative centre of the municipality of Rana in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Helgeland region of Nordland, just south of the Arctic Circle. Some of the outlying areas of the town include the suburbs of Båsmoen and Ytteren in the north and Selfors in the east and Åga/Hauknes/Dalsgrenda in the south. The town is called Mo i Rana to distinguish it from other places named Mo though locally the town is usually just called Mo. The postal address for Mo was Mo 8600 until it was changed to Mo i Rana 8600 in 1999. The 11.87-square-kilometre town has a population of 18,685 which gives the town a population density...

1. Havmannen Mo I Rana
Havmannen, or Havmann is a granite stone sculpture by the English artist Antony Gormley located in the city of Mo i Rana in Northern Norway. The sculpture stands proud in the Ranfjord in the city of Mo i Rana, which is often referred to in Norway as Polarsirkelbyen . The sculpture is 11 metres tall, weighs 60 tonnes , and according to Lonely Planet is forever up to his knees in water, turns his back on the town and gazes resolutely out over the fjord.The artist originally envisaged the sculpture being created in steel, based on the traditional steel industry which was one of the pillars of industrial Mo i Rana, and placed in the fjord to illustrate the sharp contrasts between nature and industry. It was a exciting and great experience to go down to MO i Rana.
The Artic raceway is great circuit in Norway...the wiew and nature is so beuatiful in summer time!

Please enjoy - one of Europes most beautiful roads, kystriksveien, The coastal road from Mo i Rana to Saltstraumen/Bodö. Two ferries, we drove it 16-07-02. But off-course we took off to Beiarn and caught some big salmons,
