We visited Bern with our family this summer. There are no direct flights from India to Bern. One has to get down at Zurich or Geneva to visit Bern. A couple of days are more than enough for a tourist.
Bern is the fifth largest city in Switzerland. Not many cities have managed to retain their historic features quite as successfully as Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The old town of Bern is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and thanks to its 6 kilometres of arcades - the locals refer to them as 'Lauben' - boasts of the longest weather-sheltered shopping promenades in Europe.
The city traces its origins back to the 12th century, with medieval architecture preserved in the Altstadt (Old Town). The Swiss Parliament and diplomats meet in the Neo-Renaissance Bundeshaus (Federal Palace).

बर्न स्विट्जरलैंड का पांचवां सबसे बड़ा शहर है। बर्न उन चुनिंदा शहरों में है जिसने अपने ऐतिहासिकता को अब तक बचाकर रखा है। बर्न के पुराने हिस्से को यूनेस्को की वर्ल्ड हेरिटेज साइट की मान्यता मिली हुई है। इस शहर की स्थापना 12वीं शताब्दी में हुई थी। शहर के बीचों बीच संसद भवन देखने लायक है।
बर्न में मुख्य आकर्षण है – ओल्ड टाउन, आइंस्टाइन म्यूजियम, घंटाघर, आर नदी, पुराना चर्च, रोसनगार्टन इत्यादि।

Interlaken is situated in the plains of the valley; not in the mountains. It is surrounded by the Bernese Alps though: the Jungfrau can easily be seen from the town center. The town is located on the edge of 3 regions: the Jungfrau region, Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. 'Interlaken' in fact means 'in between the lakes'. We took a bus ride to catch a glimpse of the city.

Instead of taking cable car I did short hiking from the middle station to top of Gurten in Spring. There are parks for barbeque and playground for kids as well as restaurants. Gurten is also famous for downhill mountain biking and disc golf.

Snow in Jungfrau l Top Of Europe

When we reached Jungfrau, the weather turned bad. The visibility was not very good. It was snowing. Still we enjoyed every bit of it. The peak is called the Top of Europe. So if you visit Switzerland, you should visit this place.
