Nanjangud is famous for Srikanteshwara Temple. Nanjangud is also called Dakshina Kashi . This city is also famous for a variety of banana grown in the region, the Nanjanagoodu rasabale.

  • 1. Sri Srikanteshwara Temple Nanjangud
    Sri Sharadamba Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Saraswati in the holy town of Sringeri in Karnataka, India. The Sharadamba Temple at Sringeri is an 8th-century temple, founded by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. It housed a sandalwood statue of Shardamba in a standing posture, which was installed by Adi Shankarachaya until the Vijayanagara rulers and Sri Vidyaranya installed a seated gold statue of Sri Shardamba in the 14th century.

  • 2. Gumbaz Burial Chamber Srirangapatna
    The Gumbaz at Srirangapatna is a Muslim mausoleum at the centre of a landscaped garden, holding the graves of Tippu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali, and his mother Fakr-Un-Nisa. It was built by Tippu Sultan to house the graves of his parents. The British allowed Tippu to be buried here after his death in the Siege of Srirangapatna in 1799.
