1. Riverview Park and Zoo Peterborough
The Riverview Park & Zoo is a park and zoo located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Riverview Park and Zoo began in 1933 when the venue was opened by Ross Dobbin and is now owned by the City of Peterborough . In addition to its animal exhibits, the zoo features a miniature train ride, a F-86 Sabre fighter aircraft on display and the park contains a disc golf course. Admission and parking is free.

2. Petroglyphs Provincial Park Peterborough
Petroglyphs Provincial Park is a historical-class provincial park situated in Woodview, Ontario, Canada, northeast of Peterborough. It has the largest collection of ancient First Nations petroglyphs in Ontario. The carvings were created in the pre-Columbian era and represents aspects of First Nations spirituality, including images of shamans, animals, reptiles, and, possibly, the Great Spirit itself. The location of the site was forgotten until 1954, when it was rediscovered accidentally by a prospector of the Industrial Minerals of Canada. The immediate area of the petroglyphs has been designated a National Historic Site of Canada.

The Peterborough Lift Lock is a boat lift located on the Trent Canal in the city of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and is Lock 21 on the Trent-Severn Waterway. For most of its life, the lock's dual lifts were the highest hydraulic boat lifts in the world, raising boats 65 ft . This was a considerable accomplishment in the first years of the 20th century, when conventional locks usually only had a 7 ft rise. In the 1980s, a visitor centre was built beside the lock. It offers interactive simulations of going over the lift lock in a boat, and historical exhibits detailing the construction of the lift lock. A Quick Trip to Lindsay, Ontario | Exploring Kawartha Lakes

In the Kawartha Lakes region of Southeastern Ontario is where you'll find the beautiful small town of Lindsay.

This town is just 45 minutes away from Peterborough and it's a great place to visit if you're looking to explore a typical historic Ontario town.

There really isn't that much to do in Lindsay, especially for tourists.

Apart from exploring the beautiful old town area and admiring all of the architecture there's also an old burnt down mill at the edge of town. This is the most popular landmark in the town and a fun place to check out.

Just like with many other small towns in this area, people from Lindsay claim that it's one of the most beautiful towns in Ontario.

If you're planning a visit to Lindsay I recommend parking on the main street and simply walking around to see what you can find on your own.

During the summer the town can get quite busy with all of the local cottage-goers. During the winter it’s a lot quieter and can look beautiful in the snow.
