The Riverview Park & Zoo is a park and zoo located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Riverview Park and Zoo began in 1933 when the venue was opened by Ross Dobbin and is now owned by the City of Peterborough . In addition to its animal exhibits, the zoo features a miniature train ride, a F-86 Sabre fighter aircraft on display and the park contains a disc golf course. Admission and parking is free.

The Peterborough Lift Lock is a boat lift located on the Trent Canal in the city of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and is Lock 21 on the Trent-Severn Waterway. For most of its life, the lock's dual lifts were the highest hydraulic boat lifts in the world, raising boats 65 ft . This was a considerable accomplishment in the first years of the 20th century, when conventional locks usually only had a 7 ft rise. In the 1980s, a visitor centre was built beside the lock. It offers interactive simulations of going over the lift lock in a boat, and historical exhibits detailing the construction of the lift lock. Petroglyphs Provincial Park is a historical-class provincial park situated in Woodview, Ontario, Canada, northeast of Peterborough. It has the largest collection of ancient First Nations petroglyphs in Ontario. The carvings were created in the pre-Columbian era and represents aspects of First Nations spirituality, including images of shamans, animals, reptiles, and, possibly, the Great Spirit itself. The location of the site was forgotten until 1954, when it was rediscovered accidentally by a prospector of the Industrial Minerals of Canada. The immediate area of the petroglyphs has been designated a National Historic Site of Canada.

Jackson Creek is a creek in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Great Lakes Basin, and flows to its mouth at Little Lake as a right tributary of the Otonabee River. The Otonabee flows via the Trent River to Lake Ontario. In 1963 the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority received a grant for construction of a dam on Jackson Creek. The creek overflowed in July 2004, causing extensive damage.
