Dona Maria Pia of Savoy was a Portuguese Queen consort, spouse of King Luís I of Portugal. On the day of her baptism, Pope Pius IX, her godfather, gave her a Golden Rose. Maria Pia was married to Luís on the 6 October 1862 in Lisbon. She was the grand mistress of the Order of Saint Isabel.

    Cabanas de Tavira is a former civil parish in the municipality of Tavira, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Conceição e Cabanas de Tavira. The parish covers an area of approximately 4.2 km², and encompasses a resident population of approximately 1181 inhabitants. Once a fishing port, it is now a popular summer tourist destination, owing to its beach and island , which belong to the Ria Formosa Nature Park.

    Praia da Balaia is a small satellite beach at the eastern end of its larger neighbour, Praia Santa Eulália, on the Atlantic south coast of the Algarve. Its is within the municipality of Albufeira and is 3.1 kilometres east of the town of Albufeira and 1.7 kilometres west of the coastal village of Olhos de Água.
