The Hydro-node of Podolsk-city - is one of the most biggest post-USSR projects. The main reason of that project was Creating a huge waterpool on south of Moscow, which is named Podolsk's sea.
Main goal of that project was Creating a recreation area for people of Moscow- and Podolsk- cities because there are not huge lakes on south of Moscow region.
In other version: that waterpool is need by Entreprises located nearby but recreation area will be like a pleasure plus.
In november 17, 1975, the Union of workers Mosoblsoviet signed of creation order of Podolsk's sea at confluence of two rivers: r.Mocha and r.Pakhra.
There must be three hydra-nodes by the project which must provide flooding more that 1000 hectares.
From that places were evicted local people (300 families). There were resettled in Podolsk-city.
On the shore of the future reservoir was established village of organisation Gidrostroy.
In 1978 the project of hydro-node was finished. And was signed an order, which prohibite registration, settlement and construction on the flooded territory.
In 1980 the building of hydro-node was begun. Were builded constructions of dam near village Lemeshevo and Kutyino and wood cutting of nearest forrest was started.
It was done approximatelly from 1/5 to 1/3 of all job.
In 1990 building was stopped bacause lack of money.
In current time, the Podolsk's hydro-node is only construction of a dam of first cascade.
The dimension of that building is make a big impression.
That place if very popular.
People visit the dam.
At other side - are swamp and pipes.
People often use that hydro-node like old village of Gidrostroy, but in real life that village is gone, instead of it is flat field.
