Here are five highlights of the Brandywine Gorge Loop Trail, which includes the very scenic Brandywine Falls. This is one of the most popular areas inside Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Details about the trail:

I started at the Brandywine Falls trailhead, 8176 Brandywine Road in Sagamore Hills Township.
You can also access this trail by starting at the Stanford House (6093 Stanford Rd, Peninsula, OH 44264) and hiking the Stanford Trail.

Trail mileage: 1.5 miles round trip
Time it took me: 1 hour
Elevation change: 160 feet
NPS rating: Moderate

Brandywine Falls - Cuyahoga Valley National Park, OH.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is unlike any National Park I have ever seen. Nestled halfway between the cities of Cleveland and Akron, it is a National Park filled with residential areas, streets, roads and private property. It's basically a really nice organic neighborhood with the Cuyahoga River running through it that is protected and maintained by Federal funds. The crown jewel of this park is Brandywine Falls which is easily accessed via a beautiful wooden boardwalk leading to a beautiful vantage point. There are extensive hiking and biking trails as well as a 2 hour diesel locomotive train ride through the park.

Brandywine Falls is among the most popular attractions in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and it's easy to see why. This picturesque boardwalk is an easy walk for all ages, and there is a viewing platform that has no stairs as well. A quick 5-10 minute walk to the end of the boardwalk and you are experiencing an amazing view of a 65 foot waterfall in some of the prettiest scenery in Ohio.

No matter what time of year you visit, these falls are sure to delight!
