Of course, any kind of list is subjective but overall these are our favorite restaurants in Lima and just thinking about them makes our mouths water. Lima is such a foodie city that every single time we come back to revisit we find new restaurants to add to our list of favorites. For instance, on our latest trip we tried Tanta, , Papacho's and El Bodegon for the first time. In terms of Peruvian food we'd recommend trying classics such as ceviche, lomo saltado, papa a la huancahina, acevichado, empanadas, chifa, nikkei, triples and churros come to mind. Our backpacking adventure continued from Belize (San Ignacio) to Guatemala. We crossed the border to Guatemala from Belize and got a shuttle to the island of Flores. Flores is a cute little island where most backpackers stop while visiting the world famous Maya pyramids of Tikal - the top thing to do & top attraction to see in Guatemala, for sure. We stayed in the legendary Los Amigos hostel - a backpacker hub where most traveler hatch before doing one of the Tikal tours. The hostel is one of the most nicely decorated hostels I've ever stayed at, so it is a must see ! We did the Early Bird tour to Tikal as we heard that the Sunrise + Sunset tours were BS - as you won't be able to see neither of them anyways.

It is time to get wildly civilized and go bird watching with The Lodge at Chaa Creek! For our fourth episode of A Day in a Birder's Life series, we went birding at The Lodge at Chaa Creek. This luxury eco-resort was recently named as Belize’s hotel of the year for 2018. The Lodge at Chaa Creek is noted to be a birder’s paradise with over three hundred species of birds found within their 400-acre private nature reserve.

As we were told, Chaa Creek didn’t go green…they started that way. Chaa Creek has done an excellent job in preserving the natural state of the property while building an amazing luxury eco-resort where anyone can come and enjoy nature in its near pristine state.
At the crack of dawn, we met Mr. Miguel Choco who gave us a copy of the Chaa Creek Nature Reserve Bird Guide, along with a thorough briefing before taking us on a birding hike through the Chaa Creek Nature Preserve. Watch this video as he explains a bit of his history birding at Chaa Creek since the late 1990’s, and why you should come birding at Chaa Creek.

Visiting Colonia - A Perfect Day Trip From Buenos Aires

My travels in Mexico with Audley Travel
Mexico takes on many guises. In this short video, you’ll see corners often overlooked by visitors: the balmy bays of sleepy Zihuatanejo and the great forested crevices of the Copper Canyon.
One of our Central America specialists, Anna, recently returned from a trip to Mexico. Her video aims to shine a spotlight on some of the country’s less-hyped areas and experiences.
You can take your pick from adrenaline activities such as the ‘Ziprider’ zip-line, which reaches speeds of 137 km/h (85 mph) and sees you soaring above the canyons around Barrancas, northern Mexico.
Or, for something more sedate, snorkel in the crystalline waters off Mexico’s southern coast, and watch the sun set over a headland as fishing boats bob gently on the evening tide.
Mexico is also renowned for its artisan traditions: you might find yourself, as Anna did, watching weavers at work on a traditional loom.
But, the real leading lady of Anna’s film is Mexico’s landscapes. You can segue between the clean, empty, sandy coves of Zihuatanejo (so good, we had to mention it twice), the mist-wrapped northern highlands (best traversed via the El Chepe Railway), and waterfalls and swimming holes hidden away from the world amid tropical forest.
