Passing Patalpani waterfalls by meter gauge train -Tourists enjoying the falls...
52964 Sanawad - Dr Ambedkar Nagar(MHOW) MG passenger passing the famous Patalpani waterfalls situated near Mhow, Indore. My train was powered by DADN YDM-4#6736 and banked by DADN YDM-4#6660 (in the ghat section between Kalakund and Patalpani) . Since the rains have picked up very well in Indore region over the last few days, there was a good quantum of water in the waterfalls. I passed this location on a thursday, which happens to be a weekday - but still, there were a large number of tourists who came to witness the waterfalls and the greenery in the nearby mountains.
This meter gauge route which is nearly 150+ years old used to be one of the major route once upon a time connecting Hyderabad to Jaipur. Sadly, over a period of time it got reduced and now only a small stretch of 63 kms remains between Sanawad and Mhow. The new BG route will pass through a new alignment between Choral and Mhow , which means we may not witness the Patalpani waterfalls from a moving train in the future.
Fire Paan is a new Indian fad: Slow Motion at Connaught Place in New Delhi
A Paan shop owner at Connaught Place in New Delhi makes Fire Paan. One can see he puts Gulkand and areca nuts on a betel leaf and he also adds peppermint brass so that it catches fire. Fire Paan Maker adds some chocolate syrup for taste and dumps it in a costumer's mouth, he dumps the Paan very quickly before giving the customer a second chance to back off. Fire Paan is a new trend among youngsters and also for elders. Office goers, school kids, tourists etc. can be seen having Fire Paan.
