  • 1. Shiraito Falls Fujinomiya
    Shiraito Falls is a waterfall in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture, near Mount Fuji, Japan. It is part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park and has been protected since 1936 as a Japanese Natural Monument. The falls were regarded as sacred under the Fuji cult. Another waterfall, the Otodome Falls is approximately a five-minute walk away. The Shiraito Falls is listed as one of Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls, in a listing published by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment in 1990. It was also selected by the Tokyo Nichi Nichi Shimbun and Osaka Mainichi Shimbun. as one of the 100 Landscapes of Japan in 1927. In 2013 the waterfall was added to the World Heritage List as part of the Fujisan Cultural Site.

    Hamamatsu is a city located in western Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. As of March 1, 2018, the city had an estimated population of 795,350, making it the prefecture's largest city and a population density of 510 persons per km2. The total area was 1,558.06 km2 . On July 1, 2005, Hamamatsu absorbed the cities of Tenryū and Hamakita, the town of Haruno , the towns of Hosoe, Inasa and Mikkabi , the towns of Misakubo and Sakuma, the village of Tatsuyama , and the towns of Maisaka and Yūtō to become the current and expanded city of Hamamatsu. It became a city designated by government ordinance on April 1, 2007.
