Klong Mahasawat AGRICULTURAL TOUR
Klong means 'Canal'
Mahasawat canal was made in 1859-1860 for the irrigation for the farmlands and transportation to Bangkok.
Agricultural Tour was started over 20 years ago by the headquarters of this local villages, at first the main purpose to show Thais, a group of students, etc to learn about local lifestyle of this community. Nowadays this tour is also well known to tourists who are looking for 'get off the beaten path' activities.
Take a long tail boat to do 4 highlight activities
1) Take paddle boat in the biggest lotus flower farm.
2) Ride farm truck to see the fruit farms and rice fields.
3) Learn how to make rice crispy cracker.
4) Visit the largest orchid farm.
Before all activities start, enjoy feed bread to massive catfish in the canal. Then take a long tail boat ride to do all 4 activities, each platform takes 5 - 15 minutes by boat.
1) Take paddle boat in the biggest lotus flower farm. Every other day, the owner of the farm will collect 1000-1500 lotus flowers and sell to Flower Market in Bangkok. Lotus flower means the purification of the lord buddha teaching. As more than 90% of Thais are Buddhists, hence Thais use all flowers specific lotus flower as an offering to Buddhist temples.
2) Ride farm truck to see the fruit farms and rice fields. The owner of the farm would ride his man-made farm truck 10 minutes to show you his farms where he usually picks up all of his products by using this truck. These amazing green farms have so many kinds of fruits such as pomelo (grapefruit), banana, mangoes, jackfruits, and other seasonal fruits. Most of my customers are amazing how he rides his farm truck especially the way how he turns left or turns right with his special skills and experiences.
3) Learn how to make rice crispy cracker. One of the well-known product of this local community is a rice cracker. Thais love snacking all day and rice cracker is our favorite and we can keep it for 2 months. You will learn how to make the dry rice cracker, deep fried with the delicious sauce recipe and topping with sasame seeds and shredded pork.
4) Visit the largest orchid farm. One of the top export product is the orchid flower. Because we have strong humidity, we can grow orchid very easily and very cheap price. You will surprise how inexpensive of our orchids are, that why Thais use orchid and other flowers as an offering to temples and spirit house daily.
The total 4 activities may take 2 - 2.30 hours depending on the group size.

Gandhara, one of province of Persia of Achaemenian empire ( 6th -4th centuries B.C ) comprised the present Peshawer , swat , bajaur ,buner , parts of the western Punjab and Easter Afghanistan , Taxila etc.
In this region the mahayana buddhist religous sculpture, known as Gandhara art, originated and flourished during the first five centuries of the christian era popularly believed to have been destroyed by the white Huns in the 5th century.

The word ‘Thai Ridgeback’(or Thai Lang-An) refers to a dog breed that originated in Trat Province, Thailand. Currently, Thai Ridgeback is well-known worldwide about its beauty, magnificence, wisdom, and friendliness for hundred years. We have 400-year notebook that records about ‘Si Dang’, ‘Si Sawat’, ‘Si Kleeb-Bua’ and ‘Si Dum’ who were wise, smart and could protect their owners excellently. They liked to catch animals to give totheir masters. They were more loyal than other dog breeds. At present, we still preserve the original features of them completely.
Our dog house is located in Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. The owner is Mrs. PorntipParimit and Police Captain PunsakKantasorn (the son of Mrs. Porntip). They started breeding Thai Ridgeback dogs since 2000.
The location of the dog house is clean and nearby rice fields so that it is no any air pollution from vehicles and industrial factories.
Herding dogs: we herd dogs naturally in every process. We feed dogs following local method anddo not feed them withdry food. Mostly, nativepeople will cook their own foods to eat in their families and wewill cook foods for our dogs simultaneously. We ensure that the quality of foods we do are better than dry food and can convey love to dogs much more.
Training dogs: In every day, we will train dogsto be able to respond to basic commands, such as stand close, sit, crouch, wait, etc. Then, we will massage dogsto relax them. These activities will help dogs and herdsmenhappy together.
Breedingdogs: We will allow dogs to choose their lovers by themselves and enjoy each other naturally. When they are ready, they will breed naturally by themselves with no force or artificial insemination.
Number of dogsat the dog house: There are only nine dogs that are all good-looking. We carefully selected the bestdogs we can and retain them for being breeders in particular.
Our way of life is a way of conservator who wishes to maintain Thai dog breeds for next generation. We are not merchants. We just do it for good lives, peace and simplicity to get slow lives andpride in ourselves. Most of all, we believe that we do not have to be rich if we are happy enough.
We share puppies by sending them from our dog house to customers’ houses directly. We have never given puppies to middlemen or any market due to they tend not to take care of puppies well. We will let puppiesbe in our dog house all the time to let thembe closely with their mothers. Motherdogs will be able to take good care of their puppies. All puppies have a high immunity because theyget milk from their mother dogs fully until weaned naturally. We guarantee to refund you or change puppy immediatelyif the puppy has a health problem within fifteen days of receiving the puppy. However, we have never found puppies with health problems for ten years.
