Crete island was the centre of Europe's first advanced civilization, the Minoan (c. 2700–1420 BC). The archaeological site of Knossos Palace, famous for the legends such as Theseus and the Minotaur or Daedalus and Icarus, is just one of the miracles.
Besides the legendary historical places, Crete offers you a wide variety of beaches, such as the best-known turquoise lagoon of Elafonissi, or a wonderful 6-hour walk tour in the famous Samaria gorge.
Greece is known for its hospitality, Crete island is one of the most popular tourist destination in the country. Visitors can reach the island via international airport of Chania and Heraklion, or by boat to the main ports of Heraklion, Chania, Rethymno, Agios Nikolaos and Sitia. The ferry route takes 8-9 hours from Athens (Piraeus).

Boufos, a secret Crete beach, Greece
We visited a lot of amazing places in Crete island from Greece. We've been on a wide variety of beaches that meet all flavors. Bufos beach is a special secret beach that you could find only by luck. Is situated in Sisi, near Heraklion. On the first sight it's a pebbles beach mixed with sand. It's pretty narrow and it's surrounded by rocks. And here is the most intersting part: if you climb the rocks from the right - you get on a not too big stone plateau. After few more steps you find this amazing cave made by sea waves. Here you can take a sun bath or admire the crazy and loud waves in privacy.

Summer vacation in Greece - Crete 8/2018
Our vacation in Greece island, Crete. Seven days, five places, one couple. The whole vacation we stayed near by Stalida and Mália. We had one day trip to Spinalonga island with visit of Kolokitha beach and beautiful city Ágios Nicólaos. Last day we was in the capital city, Heraclion.
