Sogn og Fjordane [ˈsɔŋn ɔ ˈfjuːɾɑnə] is a county in western Norway, bordering Møre og Romsdal, Oppland, Buskerud, and Hordaland. The county administration is in the village of Hermansverk in Leikanger municipality. The largest town in the county is Førde. Although Sogn og Fjordane has some industry, predominantly hydroelectricity and aluminium, it is predominantly an agricultural area. Sogn og Fjordane is also home to the Urnes Stave Church and the Nærøyfjord, which are both listed by UNESCO as world heritage sites. The Western Norway University of Applied Sciences has campuses in Sogndal and Førde.

    Kaupanger Stave Church is the largest stave church in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It is located in the village of Kaupanger in Sogndal Municipality, on the northern shore of the Sognefjorden. It is still in use as a parish church, having been in use continuously since its completion in the mid-12th century. The church is part of the Kaupanger parish in the Indre Sogn deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin.The church is a Norwegian Cultural Heritage Site. The nave is supported by 22 staves , 8 on each of the longer sides and 3 on each of the shorter. The elevated chancel is carried by 4 free standing staves. The church has the largest number of staves to be found in any one stave church. It is the largest of the five stave churches in Sogn og Fjordane county.

The two old parishes of Hopperstad and Hove was abolished in 1875, and replaced by the new, united, Vik parish.     Olden Church is a parish church in Stryn Municipality in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It is located in the village of Olden on the north end of the Oldedalen valley. The church is part of the Olden parish in the Nordfjord deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The red, wooden church was built in 1934 to replace the Old Olden Church as the main church for the parish. The church was designed by the architect Daniel J. Muri and it was consecrate on 19 December 1934 by the Bishop Andreas Fleischer. The church seats about 500 people.
