Cycling Angola
Cycling 2800 KM in Angola in February and March 2014, the most positive surprise among my whole Trans-African journey.
This video features the 12-hour chata trip around the Congo river mouth between Cabinda and Soyo, the sand road until N'zeto, the new roads in the mountains of Quibaxe and Golungo Alto, the non-existent roads and dugout canoe passages in the Landos around Kixinge and Longanhia, the mountain roads around Uku-Seles, Lubango, its carnival, Christo-rei and Tundavala, the Serra-da-Leba road, the last rains of the rainy season in the Cunene province around Otchinjau, and some big caterpillars.
What the video doesn't say is that with Dave (at 16:15), we needed 2-3 hours to clean the sticky mud from the 50-meter stretch between our tents and the gravel road. Nor does it say that I have been taken to police stations almost every day for looking suspicious (and for being a cycle-tourist, or for taking pictures (for example, of the valley at 10:10) without authorization).

Bicauri National Park is a beautiful national park in Angola
Bicauri National Park (Portuguese: Parque Nacional do Bicuar; also called Bicuar National Park or Bikuar/Huila National Park) is a national park in Angola. It is located in the south-west region of the country on the Huila Plateau, about 120 km SE of Lubango. The park is an area of sandy hills and shrub thicket character. The climate is tropical semi-arid. Bicuar was established as a hunting reserve in 1938, and reformed as a national park in 1964. Historically known for its large mammals, such as the Black Buffalo, the park suffered heavily in the Angolan Civil War (1975-2002). During this time the animals were mostly or entirely exterminated, but the Angolan Government is now undertaking efforts to rebuild the infrastructure and resettle the animals.[1]

Floresta do Maiombe
Está situada na região norte da Província de Cabinda, fazendo fronteira com o Congo Brazzaville e a República Democrática do Congo, ocupando uma vasta extensão territorial de 290 mil hectares, distribuídos entre os municípios de Buco Zau (comunas de Inhuca e Necuto) e Belize (comunas de Miconge e Luali). Apresenta uma densa vegetação com árvores frondosas com 50 metros de altura onde podemos destacar o Pau-Rosa, Ngulo Mazi, entre outros. A fauna está constituída de animais de grande porte como os Elefantes, Rinocerontes, Pacaças, vários primatas como os gorilas, chimpanzés, pequenos macacos e preguiças, vários tipos de roedores, aves raras como o papagaio cinzento e periquitos.
