Spili, Crete, Greece
Spili village, Crete, Greece 2000
Located around 28km south-east of Rethymno, in the province of Agios Vassilios, is the small, exceptionally pretty village of Spili. This beautiful mountain village, with a population of approx. 800 inhabitants, stands at an altitude of 430km.
The area is green and lush with many little mountain streams and plenty of trees. In the village square with its shade from plane trees, are marble fountains with sculptured lions' heads that provide drinking water from the clear, refreshing rivers of the Psiloritis Mountain.

Visited the Dikteon Cave (birthplace of Zeus), Lasithi Plateau, Venetian fortress of Rethymnon, the village Sisi, Sitia and many other nice places.

Beach Trip Crete - Preveli Beach, Palm Beach, Plakias - Best Beaches, Crete
Preveli Beach is definitely one Crete's hidden treasures. A slice of paradise tucked away on the island's southern coast with a fresh water stream running into the black sands of Preveli Beach.
To approach Preveli, you hike in over some high rocks and steep cliffs - a remote and fairly treacherous road brings you in from the side of Palm Beach, or you can park up and hike in from a pay-to-park lot on the other side, closer to the Preveli Monastery.
Once at the beach, you can hike far up the stream and enjoy sunning on the rocks and taking a few dips in the fresh, clear, and crisp water at the points where the rapids slow and the water is deep.
Such a fantastic experience and one of the must-sees of Crete's south side.
Enjoy the ride through mountainous Cretan countryside en route to this fantastic beach.
After the Preveli experience, we travel to the Preveli Monastery and then travel down to Plakias beach, another little treasure of the south and tranquil side of the island.

Acrocorinth (Greek: Ακροκόρινθος), Upper Corinth, the acropolis of ancient Corinth, is a monolithic rock overseeing the ancient city of Corinth, Greece. It is the most impressive of the acropoleis of mainland Greece, in the estimation of George Forrest. Acrocorinth was continuously occupied from archaic times to the early 19th century. The city's archaic acropolis, already an easily defensible position due to its geomorphology, was further heavily fortified during the Byzantine Empire as it became the seat of the strategos of the thema of Hellas and later of the Peloponnese. It was defended against the Crusaders for three years by Leo Sgouros.
