STOLEN is a town in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge, in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. The Doll Family, a famous circus sideshow act, were born there.
Schloßberg
Schloßberg is a hill just to the south of the town formed of prominent basalt columns. It is the formation referred to by Georgius Agricola when he coined the term basalt.
Burg Stolpen
Burg Stolpen is a castle built on top of the Schloßberg. The first defensive works were built about 1100 and it was first documented in 1222.

CZĘŚĆ TRZECIA:
STOLPEN (pol. hist. Słupno) -- miasto w Niemczech, w kraju związkowym Saksonia, w okręgu administracyjnym Drezno, w powiecie Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. Leży pomiędzy Budziszynem a Dreznem. Do 31 lipca 2008 miasto leżało w powiecie Sächsische Schweiz.
Pierwsze informacje o mieście jako o twierdzy granicznej na skrzyżowaniu szlaków handlowych pojawiają się w XII wieku.
ZABYTKI:
-Rynek z ratuszem wzniesionym w 1549 roku
-Apteka pod Lwem z 1710 roku
-Kurfürstliches Amthaus (Dom elektorski) wybudowany w 1673 roku
-Kościół miejski wybudowany w 1490 roku na wcześniejszych fundamentach romańskich w stylu pierwotnie gotyckim, odbudowany w stylu barokowym po pożarze z 1723 roku
Zamek Stolpen -- Dominantą przestrzenną zabytkowego miasta jest, pozostający w częściowej ruinie, wybudowany na bazaltowej skale monumentalny zamek (pierwsza wzmianka z 1089), z którym związane są ściśle losy hrabiny Cosel.
