In this Chinese street food video, we're bringing you on a full on Dan Dan noodle tour of Chengdu, China, DEEP in the heart of Sichuan in Southwest China. This is the land of delicious and spicy Sichuan cuisine, sometimes spelled Szechuan cuisine. There are so many famous Sichuan foods to try here in Chengdu, but today, we are trying 4 different variations of Dan Dan noodles, also sometimes called Zajiang noodles.

China has so many amazing street foods to try, and I've been filming and documenting them for you for the past 4 years. In my opinion, the best noodle dish in China is dan dan noodles, right here in Chengdu, Sichuan. China has some of the best street food around the world, and these dan dan noodles were INSANELY GOOD, some of the best noodles in China for sure!
If you're traveling to China to eat and try different street foods, and perhaps want to learn a little bit about Chinese food and chinese cooking in the process, you need to try a few different variations of Dan Dan noodles. When they prepare the traditional Chinese dan dan noodle recipe right on the street, you can watch as they scoop the main ingredients like chili oil, soy sauce, sichuan peppercorn, and garlic right into the noodle bowl and then place the steaming hot noodles right over top. It's truly satisfying! After they put the noodles over top, they place their signature fried ground pork on top, known in Chinese as shaozi.
When your dan dan noodles arrive to your table, it is very important to mix up all the chili oil and all of the ingredients throughout. This ensures that the flavour and the hot oil gets coated onto each noodle before you take a bite. It's also quite satisfying mixing the noodles and watching the dark red oil slowly turn each noodle from white into red and silky smooth.
When you take your first bite, you'll understand why this is one of the BEST Chinese street foods you need to try. The spicy noodles are coated with an incredibly aromatic chili oil and really send you straight up to heaven! It's one of the best forms of Chinese cooking!

ESPAÑOL_ Situada a medio camino entre el desierto del Sahara y las montañas del Alto Atlas, la región de Souss Massa cuenta con paisajes naturales únicos, como la desembocadura del Souss y Massa, los bosques de Argán y acantilados costeros de una belleza excepcional. Su rico patrimonio natural es objeto de protección, contando en su territorio con el Parque Nacional Souss Massa, la Reserva de la Biosfera del árbol de Árgan, los Sitios de Interés Biológico y Ecológico de Ain Asmama, Tamri y Cabo Ghir, y la Reserva Biológica de Cabo Ghir, reconocida como tal por albergar una rica muestra de vegetación macaronésica, junto a bosques de argán, además de por conservar yacimientos geológicos y paleontológicos del cuaternario de singular valor.Souss Massa está formada por una extensa llanura fértil atravesada por dos valles fluviales, formados por el río Souss y el río Massa, que recogen las aguas provenientes de las cadenas montañosas cercanas. El límite norte lo marcan las estribaciones atlánticas del Alto Atlas y, al sur, las del Anti Atlas. La zona supone el límite entre dos claras regiones biogeográficas; la región mediterránea, en pleno paleártico occidental, y la región Sahariana, el gran desierto que domina el norte de África.
FRANCES_ Située à mi-chemin entre le désert du Sahara et les montagnes du Haut Atlas, la région de Souss Massa présente des paysages uniques : l'embouchure de l'oued Souss et de l'oued Massa, ses forêts d'arganiers et ses falaises côtières sont d'une beauté exceptionnelle. Le riche patrimoine naturel du la région est protégé à plusieurs titres : on y trouve le Parc National du Souss Massa, la réserve de biosphère de l'arganeraie, les sites d'intérêt biologique et écologique d'Aïn Asmama, de Tamri et du cap Ghir, sans oublier la réserve biologique du cap Ghir, connue pour sa végétation macaronésique variée et son arganeraie, mais aussi parce qu'elle renferme des sites géologiques et paléontologiques du Quaternaire particulièrement intéressants.
La région de Souss Massa est une vaste plaine fertile ponctuée de deux vallées fluviales, formées par le Souss et le Massa, deux oueds qui charrient les eaux provenant des chaînes de montagnes voisines. La région est délimitée au nord par les contreforts atlantiques du Haut Atlas et, au sud, par ceux de l'Anti-Atlas. Elle représente une frontière entre deux régions biogéographiques bien distinctes : la région méditerranéenne, en plein paléarctique occidental, d'une part, et la région saharienne, représentée par le gigantesque désert qui domine tout le nord de l'Afrique, d'autre part.

We made it! After a friend suggested we just HAD TO go for a camel ride and camping in the Sahara desert, we made it our mission to get there and do it. Wow. No regrets at all. What an amazing experience to share with my son.
A special shout out to our new friends from Germany Lukas and Susanne. Suzanne shot a lot of the footage and photos in the desert scenes as the camel ride was much too bumpy to film.
