The Wat Tha Ton temple complex includes four huge statues of the Buddha..A standing golden Buddha over 10 meters tall overlooks the Wat Thaton temple A huge Naga Buddha rests on the roof of the Phra Nakprok building, overlooking the Mae Kok river. The seven-headed sea serpent (Naga) is there to protect Buddha from everything.

I met up with my friend Drew Binsky (check out his YouTube channel: and Facebook: to go on a lunch-rush street food tour of Silom.
Silom is one of the main financial business districts of Bangkok, it’s a downtown of Bangkok. Everyday at lunch floods of people from their offices come down for lunch and enjoy delicious street food. What I love so much about Silom is because it has such a vibrant and busy lunchtime rush, and that’s part of the fun.
We arrived a little early, to get a couple lunches in before the main lunch. The highlight of this Thai street food tour for me was Kuay Teow Khae (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ (โคตร โคตร) คอนแวนต์), one of the most popular lunch noodles shops in Bangkok!
Ok, here’s all the food we ate in this tour:
Khao Man Gai Ban Deed Kim (ข้าวมันไก่บัญฑิตคิม) - If you’ve ever gotten off the BTS at Sala Daeng station and walked down Soi Convent, you’ve probably walked right by this stall. And I’ve walked past it hundreds of times, but this was actually my first time to stop and eat there. They are well known in Bangkok for their khao man gai (ข้าวมันไก่), Thai style Hainanese chicken and rice. We each ordered a plate to get things started. Overall, very good, light fluffy rice with just the right amount if chicken oil, bouncy chicken, and fermented soybean sauce.
Price - 50 THB ($1.52)
Yee Jay (ยีเจ ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อตุ๋น-หมูตุ๋น) - Next we took a little walk through Silom, Downtown Bangkok, to another popular beef noodle shop. Again, it was my first time to eat here. We arrived before the main lunch rush, but at 11 am they were already preparing for the crowds with big amounts of meat waiting to be served. We had bowls of everything (เกาเหลาทุกอย่าง), including organs and braised beef. Their soup was fragrant with Chinese spices and the aroma of beef. It’s not the best bowl of braised beef soup in Bangkok, but it’s decent.
Price - 70 THB ($2.14)
Kuay Teow Khae (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ (โคตร โคตร) คอนแวนต์) - Finally for the main lunch, we went to one of the most popular Thai street food noodle stalls in Silom. For lunch everyday they are packed, every single seat, and if you arrive at a time like when we did, you have to wait to get a seat - sometimes 30 minutes or more. They have a few different options, but we all ordered their signature special bowl (เส้นโซบะยำแห้ง), including egg noodles topped with everything. This is one of the better single bowls of noodles in Bangkok in my opinion.
Price - 60 THB ($1.83)
Khanom Tokyo (ขนมโตเกียว (ลุงโตเกียว) - Lastly, to end this Thai street food tour in Bangkok, we were just walking past with Uncle Tokyo called us over to try his snacks. He makes both savory (with a hot dog) and sweet versions, filled with a variety of different custards. Drew and I had to try the hot dog, mostly just for fun… I’ll be honest, not a big fan of Thai hot dogs, but the sweet ones were great. And Uncle Tokyo is such a nice friendly man. If you are on Soi Convent in Silom around lunchtime, go say hi to him!

Here's My Top 5 Reasons to NOT Move to Thailand in 2019.
1. Top Of The List Would Have To Be The Current Changes to Thai Visa Rules.
I’m not going to comment on the specifics for a very good reason... I’ve had subscribers contacting me who've spoken to Various Thai Immigration Offices and Embassies and been given COMPLETELY Different Information.
Stop and just let the serious implications of that sink in for a few moments... If the people who work for the immigration offices, can’t even tell you the same thing... do you seriously think that ANY expat vlogger [Myself included] is going to know any better?
EXACTLY! To paraphrase the Current U.S. President “I'd put all my plans on hold right now. Until Thai Immigration Officials can figure out what the heck is going on!”
2. I Honestly Think Thailand Doesn’t Want Farang’s Living There Anymore.
Stop and think... 37 Million Tourists a year. And before you say: “Oh Chris,Thailand just wants to get rid of the ‘Bad’ Farang’s” Seriously...? if they were even remotely interested in that, they'd have acted years ago.
3. Logic Doesn’t Influence Decisions in Thailand.
Don’t believe me? Keep watching and I’ll prove it to you.
The number of foreigners over 50 who have applied for retirement visas to stay in Thailand almost doubled to nearly 73,000 in 2017 alone.
That is 73,000 times 800,000 Bhat or Fifty-Eight BILLION Four Hundred Million Baht!
Or, One Billion Eight Hundred Seventy-One Million Nineteen Thousand Two Hundred Dollars.
Stay with me because these next figures will blow you away...
Let’s assume that, on average, each of these Farang Retirees each spends 35,000 Baht a Month [Some will spend less others far more]
That means expat retirees are injecting a staggering Thirty Billion Six Hundred Sixty Million Baht a year [Or $983,005,590.00] into the Thai Economy.
Add the fact that most will have invested in a condo or home and the numbers are mind blowing.
Now, those of you who say... “Oh Thailand won’t do anything drastic! After all, it wouldn’t be logical...”
Simply need to stop and Google the Road Toll during Songkran.
A total of 348 people were killed and 3,176 others wounded in 3,068 road accidents during the first six days of the “Seven Dangerous Days” of Songkran, 2019. Let's face it, If Logic counted for anything, they’d do something about this.
Trust me, logic has nothing whatsoever to do with the way decisions are made when it comes to so many things in Thailand. If you don't accept that, and really come to terms with it, you'll NEVER make it in Thailand. Anyway... 4. Moving to Live in Any Country is Upheaval Enough, Without the Uncertainty.
And Right Now, There Are Other, Far More Stable Options.
The Philippines, Costa Rica, Panama, Vietnam, Greece... HINT: If you buy a house and land in Greece for 250,000 Euros, you qualify for Citizenship!
Anyway guys, this is my honest opinion. I'm not saying this because I don't like Thailand. But because I don't want to see a single subscriber up and move to Thailand, only to see the rug pulled from under your feet. I believe that when it comes to choosing where you are going to spend the rest of your life...
Things Like Stability and Assurance Are Vitally Important.
Thailand hasn't even gotten it's act together in regards to the current visa changes - let alone what they have planned for the future.
And isn't it strange that NOBODY has even asked them that question! Dear Immigration Head, Where Do You See Things Going for Expats in the Next 10 to 20 Years? What plans are in place? What changes can Expat Retirees expect? These are VERY Reasonable Questions. Strange that nobody is asking them... If you want to, go ahead. Take the risk with Thailand. But at least consider waiting for another 12 months until there is one very clear and unified message from Immigration.

11 Worst Tourist Scams in Bangkok Thailand
Bangkok is a city famous for scamming tourists. Watch this video before you trip to prepare yourself so you won't be a victim. With 20 million tourists every year, you better believe there are folks out to scam you. I am not telling you to avoid Bangkok. I will be telling you how to visit Bangkok and not get scammed, so that you’ll enjoy your Bangkok trip more! Nothing puts a damper on a good vacation than being victim to a scam.
- Grand Palace is closed
Don't trust anyone that tells you this or that is closed today , go ahead with your plans and find out yourself if it really is closed. Chances are it's not. They want to take you to their special palace, which also includes a stop at some jewelry shop that the scammer gets a kick-back on.
- Fixed Price Taxis
Walking down the street, you will hear parked taxi drivers and tuk-tuk drivers call out, Where are you going? You need a lift? Etc.
This is normal. Just smile, say no thanks and keep walking. Hail a taxi that is already on the street and always use the meter(if you need a taxi.). Or use uber or grab.
You’ll encounter this scam upon arrival at BKK airport, avoid the touts lurking on Level 1. Go to the official taxi stand.
Oh, and Tuk Tuks will cost 3-5x the price of taxis
- Taxis that take you to a place that “sounds” the same
For example: Sombondee Seafood Market instead of the famous Somboon Seafood
Make sure you know the exact name of the place you’re going; don’t just settle for a place that sounds similar
Or taxis that offer to take you some place “extra” for a discount -- it will also be a place where they get fuel coupons or kick-backs.
- Massage Shop Scam
In touristy areas you’ll see massage shop managers roaming the areas looking for customers. They tell you about a deal, take you to the shop, tell you to pay them in front of the shop. The “manager” leaves to look for more customers, you go in to the shop, only to be asked to pay again at the end of the service. The “manager” didn’t really work there.
Bird Food Scam
In front of the Royal Palace, someone will hand you a bag of bird food, and show you how to feed the birds. Only afterwards then tell you that bird food cost 300 Thai Baht!
- Wrong Change
Convenience store clerks in touristy areas scam tourists by giving you the wrong change because you don’t know what Thai money looks like. Always count your change before leaving the counter.
- ATM Currency Conversion:
- Pickpockets
- Tour packages from “Tourism Authority of Thailand”
- beware the friendly stranger , the one who starts chatting to you out of the blue.
- Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

FUN THINGS TO DO IN SIQUIJOR - Philippines Travel Vlog Ep 17
Here are some fun things to do on Siquijor Island, Philippines.
In order of the places we visited:
1. Cambugahay Falls - I recommend going early before a lot of people get there.
2. St Isidore de Labrador Church
3. Secret beach (That’s not the real name of it… it’s literally just a secret beach. Ask Chris at Lazy Lizard Hostel for directions if you want to go here. It’s a nice spot… but it’s not the best beach since it’s not really sand, just dead coral. It’s definitely an adventure to get there since it’s way off the main road and you need to ride through the jungle for a while. I think the journey getting there was actually more exciting than the destination itself.
4. Paradise Bay - I don’t think we went to the right place because the spot we ended up was not really much of paradise at all. I wasn’t in charge of directions so I blame that on the girls :) I just googled Paradise Bay and photos show a place much different haha
5. Coco Grove - There’s a place to swim and pay a small fee to snorkel. I met someone who said it was really nice to snorkel there. We didn't snorkel, but we ended up just relaxing at the Resort which was very beautiful… and if you just act confident, no-one will care that you use the facilities ;) (You can park your bike on the side of the resort. You'll see other bikes parked there. Then you can walk around and enter the resort from the beach.)
6. Lugnason Falls + Zodiac Falls - Highly recommend visiting these beautiful falls. Again, to beat the crowd, it’s best to go about an hour and a half before sunset which will give you enough time to explore and there probably won’t be many people.
7. Salagdoong Beach - This is a popular place for tourists and local families. Weekends are usually much more crowded since it’s a public beach and many local families come for BBQs. Overall, it was a nice spot to swim and relax. The waterslide wasn't operational when I was there but are some platforms you can use for cliff jumping.
