Idukki is one of the 14 districts of Kerala state, India,[1] created on 26 January 1972. At that time, the district headquarters was at Kottayam. In June 1976 it was moved to Painavu. Idukki which lies in the Western Ghats of Kerala. Idukki is the second largest district in area but has the lowest population density. Idukki has a vast forest reserve area; more than a half of the district is covered by forests. The urban areas are densely populated whereas villages are sparsely populated. Idukki is also known as the spice garden of Kerala.

Anayadikuthu Waterfalls, Near Thommankuthu Places to visit in Idukki #Tripjodi
Anayadikuth Waterfalls (ആനയാടികുത്ത് വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം) or Aanachadikuth Waterfalls (ആനച്ചാടികുത്ത് വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം), Thodupuzha (Idukki District), is one of the picturesque waterfalls in Idukki, Kerala which is situated about 20kms from Thodupuzha. It is one of the less explored waterfalls in Idukki even though it is nearer to Thommankuth Waterfalls Thodupuzha.
Anayadikuthu waterfalls is a beautiful waterfalls, which is a must visit place in the list “Places to visit in Idukki ” . Anayadikuthu lies near Thommankuthu waterfalls, Thodupuzha.
These two waterfalls can be made as an itinerary to a one-day trip in Idukki. Anayadikuthu waterfalls has another name ” Aanachadikkuthu “. The name explains that when a herd of elephants were passing this waterfall, an elephant slipped in to the falls and was drowned to death.
Things to do in Anayadikuthu waterfalls
During monsoon this waterfalls seems majestic, a micro version of Athirappilly Waterfalls.
Best part is this waterfalls is safe to take a dip for even kids [ not in monsoon ]
Anyone can dive in and take a dip
Standing just below the waterfalls and felling the water force is a WOW ! feel.
Will surely suggest this place to have fun with family and friends.
Expenses
No entry fees or guards to look after so you have to spend just your fuel cost.Two wheelers and 4×4 can take up to the top other four wheelers it might be difficult to reach
From Thodupuzha: Thodupuzha – Muthalakodam- Karimannoor – Mulappuram – Anayadikuth Waterfalls
From Ernakulam: Ernakulam – Muvattupuzha – Vannapuram -Anayadikuth Waterfalls
Nearest Railway station: Ernakulam South or Aluva or Kottayam about less than 80 km
Nearest Airport: Cochin, about 65km
Nearest Bus Stand: Thodupuzha, about 20km

Anchuruli Near of vagamon | 5 K.M tunnel | Idukki | Kerala tourism
Anchuruli, also spelled Anjuruli, is an emerging tourist destination and a catchment area of Idukki arch dam in Kanchiyar village near Kattappana in the district of Idukki in Kerala state, India. It is highly noted for the 5 km long circular tunnel that carries water from Erattayar dam near Kattappana to Idukki reservoir.
The elevation of Anchuruli ranges from 740 m (2,430 ft) above mean sea level. It lies in the Kanchiyar grama panchayath in the newly formed Idukki constituency. The place can be accessed from Kanchiyar (3 km) which is on the Kattappana - Kuttikkanam state highway
Anchuruli being famous for its waterfalls, offers a splendid view of semi – evergreen forest grasslands and hilly areas of the Western Ghats. From this place, we can view a subterranean tunnel of 6 km passing through a huge mountain.

This beautiful High range district of Kerala is geographically known for its Mountainous Hills and Dense Forests. For the people of Kerala, Idukki is always associated with Power Generation. About 66% of the State's Power needs come from the Hydroelectric Power Projects in Idukki. Idukki accounts for 12.9 percent of the area of Kerala and only 3.7 percent of the population of Kerala.
Idukki district was formed on 26 January 1972.The district consists of Devikulam, Udumbanchola and Peermedu taluks of the erstwhile Kottayam district and Thodupuzha taluk (excluding two villages Manjallore and Kalloorkadu) of the erstwhile Ernakulam district. At the time of formation the district headquarters started functioning at Kottayam and from there it was shifted to Painavu in Thodupuzha taluk in June 1976, where it is proposed to build a new planned forest township.
