Valdivia is a city and commune in southern Chile, administered by the Municipality of Valdivia. The city is named after its founder Pedro de Valdivia and is located at the confluence of the Calle-Calle, Valdivia, and Cau-Cau Rivers, approximately 15 km east of the coastal towns of Corral and Niebla. Since October 2007, Valdivia has been the capital of Los Ríos Region and is also the capital of Valdivia Province. The national census of 2002 recorded the commune of Valdivia as having 140,559 inhabitants , of whom 127,750 were living in the city. 1. Parque Oncol Valdivia
Oncol Park is a natural reserve located 32 km from the city of Valdivia, Chile. The park has an area of 7.54 km2 of which most lies on Cerro Oncol , the highest peak of the Valdivian Coast Range, but is only 5 km from the coast. Oncol Park is located in an area of 15 km2 of continuous Valdivian temperate rain forest. From the peak of Cerro Oncol it is possible to see Llaima Volcano, Villarrica Volcano and even Mount Tronador on the international border of Chile and Argentina. The park is property of the wood pulp enterprise Celulosa Arauco y Constitución.

Mancera Island is a minor island at the mouth of Valdivia River. Prior to being named after the Marquis of Mancera the island was known as Güiguacabin to the indigenous Mapuches. In his 1544 expedition Juan Bautista Pastene, made the island known for the Spanish and named it Imperial. Later the island became known to the Spanish as Constantino after its owner Constantino Pérez, then its was known for a time it was known as Santa Ines. The name finally settled as Mancera after the Spanish viceroy of Peru Pedro de Toledo, 1st Marquis of Mancera, who ordered the fortification of the island. The fort was a vital point in the Valdivian Fort System, preventing enemy ships from reaching Valdivia from Corral Bay.In 1682, after Valdivia was badly damaged by a fire it was proposed to move the city...

01. San Cristóbal Hill
A hill. Rises 880 m. AMSL and about 300 m. above the rest of Santiago; the peak is the second highest point in the city, after Cerro Renca.

A small hill in the centre of Santiago. Has an altitude of 629 m and a height of 69 m over the surrounding area. The hill is the remnant of

a volcano 15 million years old.

09. Apoquindo Waterfall
A waterfall in Waters of Ramon Natural Park. It is fed by melting snow from Cerro San Ramon and Cerro Provincia. Reaching the waterfall

requires a moderately difficult hike of about 7 hours total duration at a good pace. Has a main drop of about 25 meters.
